"I've been having it rough, you know." Nathan said, staring down at the floor, no movements.

"There are no bounds as to how truly painful I feel right now. How sad, and sorrowful I feel."

"What would you do if the thing you loved the most, has to move away from your life without warning? Like, it just happens all of a sudden, the trail of the train you're happily riding just suddenly cuts off and you're just there, riding it as it choochoo's aimlessly. "

There was no reply, just the sound of small inhales and exhales, in the distinct silence of morning.

"That's how I feel too." Nathan nodded, his head lower this time, his breath getting heavier, he then continued. "It's like being placed in a maze, where the walls are too high for you to peek, and you've been given nothing to assist you in your survival. You only have yourself and you're surrounded by all these things that are unknown to you, because all you cared about was that thing you loved."

He sniffed, his hands cupped onto the contours of his nose applying pressure as he did, in hopes that the tear ducts won't start producing those salty liquid discharge. The freckles beside his eyes folded with his accumulated melancholy, his eye brows almost meeting at the center.

"Life can be cruel at times, right?"

"Now I can't eat my favourite homemade beef burgers from that canteen anymore. I didn't know they finished their contracts until I saw the notice during break. My stomach was deceived, Eel. I gave myself fake hopes during one of my classes, I was deadly craving for it. Now the love of my life is gone, the mustard, the mayonnaise, the chili in smothered onto the juicy beef patty sandwiched with seasoned puns, why did it have to go? I loved those burgers. I really did.."

Meow. Eel said.

"I understand," Nathan said. "Thank's for being here for me, E-"

The door handle twisted with a grate, Nathan unable to turn his neck due to the stockpiled fats on his neck. There were no footsteps to assess, and there wasn't even a knock before the door opened. The cool air embraced Nathan's lower back, the surface of his skin where his tight singlet could not cover, it sent chills up his spine, and goosebumps all around his neck. He was truly confused, he had his back to his room's door, and he was facing the window. The sun was still lacking of warmth, which meant it was still early in the morning, plus, it was a Sunday. So who would bother come up into his room? His maid would almost always watch her favourite series around this time, and his parents would go out for grocery shopping. He would have the upper floor to himself.

He miraculously managed to turn his body by a bit, just enough for the corners of his eyes to see who it was. Eel meowed excitedly and ran to the door, its tail wiggling in delight.

"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING HERE?!" Nathan squawked, and hasted over to grab his blanket and proceeded to cover his body.

"That's no way to treat a guest." Sylvia laughed, shutting the door behind her.

"YOU'RE AN INTRUDER FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE." Nathan now had his body covered with his flower patterned blankie.

"Your maid let me in, she remembers me surprisingly." Sylvia knelt down, petted Eel and tickled its abdomen. Eel meowed more, playfully jabbing Sylvia's hand as it showed his belly.

"NO ONE GAVE YOU PERMISSION TO ENTER MY ROOM, YOU COULD HAVE SEEN ME NAKED YOU KNOW, I WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO BE ANYONE'S HUSBAND."

"The printed sign on your door says 'Hot Chicks Allowed'," Sylvia opened the door and pointed the sign she was referring to. She laughed more, while simultaneously playing with Eel.
