Truth or Dare

Annabeth

"Who wants to play truth or dare?" Piper had a smirk on her face.
Leo spoke, "That's cheesy!
"That's the point Leo!"
Leo considered it for a minute.
"Ground rules. One, no making people cheat on there respective boyfriends or girlfriends. Two, no seven minutes in heaven. And three, you have to jump in the pool if you lie or can't complete the dare."
Everyone agreed with Leo.
"Ok, who wants to start?"
"I'll do it." Thalia had a evil smirk on her face.
"Piper truth, or dare?" Piper hesitated before speaking,
"Truth." Thalia's smile widened as Pipers expression became worried.
"Do you have a secret crush?"
She blushed for a second.
"Yea." We all oohed and I noticed Jasons smile had a look of disappointment. Percy whispered something to him and his smile brightened once more.
"Ok my turn. Umm let's have a go at our new girl. Ok Annabeth, Truth or Dare?"
Knowing Piper was a romantic, I chose dare. There will be no confessions of love today.
"Ok I dare you too..... make up a cheesy pickup line and say it to someone in the room."
I laughed a little as I thought about it.
I looked at Percy.
"Are you a library book because I can't stop checking you out."
I blushed pink and laughed into my hands. Everyone joined in on the laugh and I looked back at Percy. He just laughed and responded with a pickup line of his own. "This may be cheesy, but I think your grate."
We all burst into laughter and me and Percy high fived.
"A beautiful performance by our leads indeed!" Leo shouted. And others yelled "Bravo!" Or other obnoxious cheers.
Once we all had settled down a little I looked at Hazel.
"Hazel, truth or dare?"
"Dare."
I thought for a second.
"Try to describe all of Hamilton in three minutes."
She smiled really wide. "I have waited my entire life to do this." We all chuckled. Piper got her phone out and put on a timer for three minutes.
"Go."
The entire three minutes Hazel was running around aimlessly trying to explain Hamilton while everyone watched laughing hysterically. I had to notice that Frank was paying very close attention watching her every goofy move. How cute. The rest of truth or dare was about the same. Percy and Jason had a rap battle, Grover had to eat a piece of grass, and Nico had to put a ice cream cone on his head and say
u-Nico-rn. But all good things have to end sadly. And  at eleven we all went home.

Percy

I know reading this your probably saying,
you like Annabeth! You said a pickup line! I thought you said you didn't!
Chill I know. And I never said I didn't. I said I didn't know if I did or not. I'm still working it out.
Anyways, on the car ride home Dancing Queen came on and I have never laughed so hard in my entire life. Me and Annabeth were dancing like crazy acting like goofballs all the way home.
Finally, we arrived at our apartments and I grew up the courage to ask something.
"Do you wanna come over to my house tomorrow? I mean- if you want to.. I just thought if you were home alone for the weekend than uh you know- umm."
She smiled and said, "I'd love that."
A wave of relief came over me. "See you then."
Walking in my apartment, my mom was in her work uniform and looked back at me.
"Hi sweetie." She said as she filled a travel mug with coffee.
"Hi mom. Umm can my friend Annabeth come over tomorrow? She lives next door."
"Of course honey just remember to keep an eye on Tyson while I'm sleeping."
"Yes ma'am." I did a small salute and gave her a hug.
"So this Annabeth... is your new, friend?"
"Mom!"
"Just asking...."
She gave me a warm smile as she said goodbye and walked out the door. I walked up to my room and saw Annabeth through the window reading a book. I waved and she looked up from her book and waved back with the widest smile. I walked over to my window and opened it. And she did the same.
"This is convenient." I said with a smile
"Yea. Seriously." She looked around at the tree in the middle of our apartments.
"It's really stable actually, I go in it to escape from Gabe a lot."
"Really? Cool." She looked back at me and smiled.
"Wanna go in it?"
Her eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
"What?"
"Come on."
I climbed out the window and into the tree. I smirked at her to follow. She laughed a little and climbed out her window.
We sat down on a piece of plywood I had put in the tree years ago.
"Can I come in here to escape Gabbie? If she finds me then hopefully she'll fall on the way to this branch." I smiled
"Of course. And I hope I can see that."
"Oh, I will have it on video."
We both laughed as we talked for a few more minutes. She yawned.
"We should get some sleep. See you tomorrow?"
"See you tomorrow." We both smiled as we climbed back through our windows and closed them. We waved goodbye and I fell onto my bed and thought about everything. I heard a slight snore come from Tyson in the other room. Everything was great without Gabe. I wish it could always be like this. I sighed, grateful that I could get even a second without him. I fell into a blissful sleep.
