She grew up hiding who she was because of the threat of being taken away, like her father. Luca Hood, the daughter of Ruby "Red Riding" Hood, never trusted anyone, not fully and unconditionally at least, but when the soon-to-be King Ben decides to i...

The amount of noise that surrounded her caused Luca's sensitive ears to hurt slightly. The young woman flipped up her red hood so desperately muffle at least a little of the talkative crowd that surrounded the courtyard. Her black curly hair was engulfed with the fabric and ceased its slight blow in the wind. An hour had passed since Luca had left her first-period class and now Ben, Audrey, Luca, Blair, Fairy Godmother, and the Auradon Prep band all stood in a welcoming crowd in front of the school.
Everyone, except Audrey who, according to Blair, always had an unpleasant look on her face even when she was smiling, watched with excited anticipation to welcome their new classmates. Luca didn't get her jitters from excitement. She got her jitters from nervousness. Luca was nervous to meet the children from the Isle of the Lost. She was nervous to see how they behaved and what they looked like. She didn't know who their parents were.
Shuffling over to Ben, who stood behind Fairy Godmother and in between Blair and Audrey, much to Audrey's annoyance. "Ben," Luca whispered as she leaned close to the soon-to-be king. Ben looked to the quiet girl, who he didn't know much about, with a smile. Luca had always intrigued him, but he could never hold a long enough conversation with her to get to know her. He had a feeling it was deliberate. "Yeah?" He whispered back.
"I just wanted to know... Who are the Villain Kid's parents?" Luca fiddled with her hands nervously. She didn't like speaking to Ben, or any other children of royalty for that matter so she hid her blue and yellow eyes underneath her hood and avoided eye contact. Blair was the only exception and Luca thinks she wouldn't even be friends with Blair if the Scottish princess wasn't so extroverted and actively went after Luca's friendship. Ben perked up at the question and cleared his throat with a sense of nervousness. Luca could smell that the young prince had been reeling with anxiety since they arrived in the courtyard.
"Oh. Well, they are the daughters of the Evil Queen and Maleficent and the sons of Jafar and Cruella De Vil," Ben spoke in a masked even tone and waited for Luca to act scared or upset at the news like all the others who he had told, but that didn't happen. All Luca did was silently nod and shuffle back to where she was previously standing, which was on the other side of Blair. Her lack of reaction confused Ben, but he didn't have time to question it as the band struck up in a jubilant tone. They signaled the arrival of the Villain Kids. The long black limousine slowly pulled to a stop in front and out tumbled two loudly clambering boys.
It was hard for everyone but Luca to get a good look at the fighting boys, but because of her heightened senses and the angle at which she stood, the males' faces were clear. The young man lying on his back had bleach blonde hair with dark roots. His eyes were a dark chocolate color and freckles littered his face. His clothing consisted mainly of red, white, and black leather. His outward appearance gave the impression of a dangerous hoodlum, but the squeak in his voice showed a definite goofy side to the young man.
The taller boy standing with his foot planted on the other male's chest had a very different air to him. His hair was long, and a dark drown. It draped over his back and chest and a red beanie sat atop his head. His clothing, like all the isle kids standing in front of them, was made of leather the colors of yellow, blue, maroon, and accents of black. The air around oozed confidence. The constant smirk his lips set into showed the underlying smugness the boy thrived in. He clearly thought he was the best.
