"Adrielle, bakit ako?"
Atticus Wren once asked me when all of our friends were down from drinking too much. The two of us tried to lessen our alcohol intake so we're kinda sober.
"Bakit hindi ikaw?"
Sagot ko habang nakangiti sa kanya.
He was not aware on how he could affect me. He always gets into my system. It's been so long since I felt this way— no, I never felt this way. Siguro dati, akala ko ang saya-saya na kapag na-notice ka ng crush mo, pero iba yung sa kanya.
Atticus Wren is different. So different.
"Why.... did you stay? I can't give you a proper relationship, Ri. Nasabi ko naman na sayo, 'di ba?"
Natigilan ako dun. Bakit nga ba?
"Why are you asking me this? Are you drunk na?" I laughed a little.
He looked at me and smiled.
Oh, his smile.
"Answer me, though. I want to know why."
Because....
"Because of you. Just you. You were with me on my darkest times. You know me better than anyone else. And I like you. Kailangan ko pa ba ng ibang rason? 'Di pwedi na gusto ko lang manatili sa tabi mo?"I answered in a joking manner. "Ako pa naman, 'Di ba, Wren?"
I asked that with so much confidence. I didn't even notice the hesitation in his voice when he answered me back.
"Wag kang mag-alala. Ikaw pa.."
