Chapter 2

Phoenix's P.O.V.

It was the next day and I just arrived at the arena. Last night I texted my dad saying that I've got a meeting today and he said that hopefully everything goes well.

"Hey coach, what's up?" I asked as I walked into his office and sat down in front of his desk "ah, Birdie! We'll just need to wait a few minutes for Mario Lemieux" he smiled. We waited a few more minutes before Mario walked in "hello, you must be Phoenix?" He asked while sticking his hand out for me to shake "yes I am" I smiled and shook his hand. "So you're probably wondering why we've called you here?" Coach asked "should I be worried?" I joked, making them laugh "no, no, no. We've called you here because I was wanting to ask if you're ok with getting traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins?" Mario asked "really? You want me to play for you guys?" I asked shocked "yes, of course! We've been watching you play for the last few years and you're an amazing player, we would love to have you on our team" Mario smiled "so, what do you say Birdie? You wanna do it?" Coach asked, already knowing the answer "hell yeah I would!" I shouted excitedly.

"Ok, so we're just going to bring you down to Pittsburgh tomorrow morning and then you can practice with the guys in the afternoon. How does that sound ok?" Mario asked me after I finished signing my 4 year contract "sounds great!" I said with a huge smile.

After the meeting was over I went back to my very tiny apartment, called my landlord, told him that I was moving and then started to pack all of my clothes, toiletries, and pictures that I own so I could send them down to Pittsburgh with me. And thankfully everything I had could fit into the 2 extra large suitcases I had. I was going to leave the bed and kitchen things there because they obviously came with the apartment.

I can't believe that my dreams are coming true and I finally get to play in the big leagues.
