Not the only fire

Gilbert's POV

I was already half awake when bells started going off which means there's a fire. I look out my window to whose house it might be and it's Ruby Gillis she's someone in my class, I go wake up my dad so we can get the buggy and buckets ready after we get there the house was still in good enough shape to save. I was put on the roof throwing water in the window I was trying my best to at least calm down the fire after a awhile and it's not getting any better then all of a sudden I started hearing screams behind I look and It's Diana, Mrs. Cuthbert there where screaming for Anne. What happened where is she? I was about to go down to see what was happing then the I she a flash a red in the house. I was trying to see what she was doing In a burning house but before I could do anything she closed the door in front of me. I started screaming her name. The whole time I was asking myself what if she hurt? What if she's not okay. Then I look down on the ground and there she was in the arms of Mrs. Cuthbert I never felt more relieved in my Life then a farm boy who worked on the farm started shouting that Anne was stopping the fire and she did the fire calmed down and it was almost out. I have no idea in world by closing doors would stop fires but I didn't care it was that Anne stopped it.

It was morning and Me and my dad went home to clean up then go start rebuilding the house, I was on the roof with the one and only Billy Andrews I never would saw that I hated someone but if was asked if I ever did hate someone it would be him. Then out of the blue, Anne and Ruby showed with scones she was talking to the Minster when Billy said "look it's the freak and her twin sister" I wanted to stay calm so I responded with a as long as they bring good I don't care if's it's  Quasimodo!
Then Ruby trips on a piece of wood and Billy starts laughing, At this point I was just annoyed, then he had the audacity to say that girls are useless then I was mad what my dad always told me to treat women with respect  because behind closed doors they are the ones who are stronger in the end. Then he said that Anne should just stay in the kitchen to no ones surprise she started yelling at him, I got off the roof to help Ruby off the ground but really it was just a reason to talk to to Anne, call me crazy for wanting to talk to a person who hit me with a slat, but she was interesting and no o girl  in this town was interesting I didn't want to sound rude but they all just wanted to be wives and to just cook I want someone to talk to and take to places and tell them something and they wouldn't judge and Anne was that person.

After I helped Ruby and I couldn't help to just stare at Anne I really don't know why I did I just did. After Anne and Ruby walk away I just stood like a fool looking at Anne till I couldn't see her anymore I was all smiling the whole time when working on the house that day for reasons I don't know why. When we got home all my dad did was tease me about starting at Anne I tried to fight against it but he was right. That night all I could do was think about Anne I mean I knew she probably thought I was as rude as Billy Andrews but all she had to do is smile at me and I'd be happy for the rest of the day.
