Leigh-Anne looked at herself in her mirror and felt . . . beautiful.
"It fits even better than I thought it would." Said one of Madame Dupont's assistants after they finished helping Leigh get ready.
The makeup artists finished at the same time that the seamstresses did and they all stepped back to admire the girl.
"She has never looked more gorgeous." A makeup artist said.
Leigh-Anne had been keeping her face blank for the entire duration of getting ready in order to not disrupt the expensive makeup routine which had been being done to her face but now she could not help but smile.
"Ah beautiful." Everyone clapped for her.
Leigh-Anne clapped too and then started clapping for everyone in the room. "You all did a fantastic job."
"Well it's not so hard to make you look fabulous darling." Said one of the seamstresses.
"Oh stop it." Leigh waved her off before stepping off the elevated stool. Someone helped her down and then she was led to a couch in her dressing room where some people placed her expensive high heels on her feet for her. Jesy was in the dressing room across from hers but she was not allowed to see her yet. The other bridesmaids had had their own dressing rooms as well but Leigh had heard an organizer say that they were already done and being escorted to the ceremony in black vans. The wedding was to commence in about thirty minutes. When it was time to go someone would come get her and bring her to her own black van. Her father would be accompanying her. He was waiting outside as she finished up.
"All set lovely. Try not to trip in them." Someone said once they were done getting her shoes on.
Leigh looked at the gorgeous silver high heels and she nearly fainted. "They looked pretty in the box but somehow they seem even prettier on my feet! Eek!"
"Okay upsy daisy." The people were now helping her to her feet.
"Walk back and forth a bit as a test run." Someone said.
Leigh did so and they all whistled and hooted because she seemed okay.
She posed once she was done and then laughed. Now she picked up her dress to look at her feet again. "No one's even going to see my feet." She chuckled before releasing her dress and brushing her hands against the front of it. It felt really good to not be falling apart with nerves over all of this. She had butterflies in her stomach but she didn't feel terrified like she normally would. Her hands weren't sweating and she wasn't shaking or sweating anywhere else. Just a bit of jitters but that was healthy.
"The finishing touch."
A crown was placed on her head and she smiled, feeling like a real princess. "Thanks. Jes will love-"
The door to the room opened. All of these dressing rooms were in a small building a block away from the garden where the wedding would be held. "We're ready for you L.P. You should be heading over now." An organizer in a suit said.
"Oh okay . . . cool." Leigh smiled widely before being helped to walk towards the door.
Once she was out she spotted her dad in his suit.
The man had been staring in space until he noticed her. He looked down and immediately became speechless.
Leigh smiled. "Do you like it? Is it too much?"
Mr. Pinnock was looking her over, up and down.
Leigh was a little concerned. "Dad?"
And now he was crying.
