"What are you doing here?" Diego cut into Luther's comment.
Luther stayed silent for a moment, "Uh...Do you know about Mom?"
"Well, it looks like you got what you wanted, one way or another right?" he mumbled as his eyes darted around the room.
"Wanna tell me what you're doing here?"
"Looking for Five."
"Let me guess, you're gonna save the day." Luther stared at his brother blankly.
"It's what I do. Asshole." Diego started to leave.
"Really? Last I checked, you mopped floors."
"And what do you do? Sit on the moon for four years, waiting for orders?" Diego antagonised.
Pogo broke up the conversation, "Boys. This won't help us find Five."
"Keep on being a loyal soldier after everything our father did to you." Diego continued.
Luther bit back, "What? You mean save my life?"
"No, I mean... Turn you into a monster." Diego said as he leant against the wardrobe.

Luther gave no response and instead opted to punch a hole through the wardrobe and stare his brother down. Pogo sighed at the damage done and simply looked upon the pair with a face etched with disappointment.

"Can't hide it anymore, champ." Diego whispered.
"He had a difficult decision to make, and he made it." Luther insisted.
"Grow up, Luther, We're not thirteen anymore."
"That's what leaders do, by the way."
"He sent you on that mission all alone. Almost got you killed." Diego added.
"Yeah, well at least he was there. Where were you? You and everyone else in this family?"
Diego scoffed as Luther went on, "You walked out."
"And thank Christ that I did, or I would have ended up just like you," Diego pointed at his brother, "Let me ask you a question. When you watch one of those nature shows..."
"Diego, please" Pogo begged.
"Does it turn you on?"
"So what? Is he just an animal to you too now Diego, huh?"
"Don't"
"Enough!" Pogo stopped the argument.

The two men froze and turned to look at the ape.

"This house was attacked. We barely got out with our lives. And Grace... She wasn't so lucky. Your brother is missing, and this is how you rise to the occasion?" Pogo stared down the brothers, "Take your nonsense elsewhere."

Both Luther and Diego looked to the floor, avoiding all eye contact.

"Now."
"Sorry, Pogo"
"Yeah, sorry, Pogo"

They both sulked out of the room and out of the house, beginning their search for their brother. Luther stormed ahead making his way to the last place he saw Five, hoping he was still there and Diego followed close behind.

"This is it. He's still here. This is Five's van."

Luther tugged at the handle of the van but it remained closed. Diego rolled his eyes at 'Number One' and produced a blade from one of his many holders, using it to open the door. Both men went to get into the car, pushing into each other each time they tried.

"I'm One." Luther emphasised as he tried to get into the front seat.

Diego unlocked the back of he van and climbed in as Luther rifled through the papers in the front. Diego glanced around, grabbing a bag full of papers and flicked through one of Five's books. He turned to the front page of the book, noticed the stamp marking it as property of the public library and whistled to catch Luther's attention.

"I know where to find Five."

They arrived at the library and marched through the entrance.

"Let's split up." Luther suggested.
"Wow. Good thinking."

The two men diverged and searched through the floors, trying to find their 'younger' brother. They climbed a ridiculous amount of stairs and searched through all the aisles of the building and yet could not find the old man stuck in a teenagers body. They reconvened on the top floor, looking over the bannister, still searching for their sibling.

"Anything?" Luther asked.
"No." Diego continued on, "You wanna know why I left?"
Luther turned back to his brother, "What? What are you talking about?"
"Why I left the Academy." Diego clarified.
"Yeah, 'cause you couldn't handle me being Number One."
"No," Diego scoffed slightly, "Because that's what you do when you're 17. You move out, become your own person, grow up."
Luther cut him off, "Oh, yeah. You're a real grown-up."
"At least I make my own decisions. You've never had to hold down a job. Pay bills. You ever even been with a girl?"
Luther stood silent for a moment, "I... I don't know what you're talking about- At least I'm not picking up girls during home invasions."
"Hey. You leave Y/N out of this." Diego stared back at him, "Look, you wanna blame me, blame us for leaving... That's okay. But maybe you're asking yourself the wrong question. Maybe it's not about why we left. Maybe it's about why you stayed."
"I stayed because the world needed me."
"You stayed because you couldn't let go of the way things used to be. The Academy. Dad. With Allison. Dad's dead. Mom too, now. We're orphans again dude." Diego turned to face Luther, glancing down, "And things are never gonna go back to the way they used to... Be."
Luther looked at his brother and sighed, "Do you ever stop talking?"

Diego didn't respond and stormed off to the right, following the sound of the women's giggles in the corner. Luther followed soon after, hearing a far more familiar voice, and they both stood, astounded at the sight they saw before them. Five. Snoring, arm draped around the poor British intellectual they liked to call their brother's 'little girlfriend'.

"Is he, um..." Luther trailed off.
"Drunk as a skunk." Diego nodded.
"Ok first of all," Hill started, already annoyed by the pair, "drunk as a skunk is a ridiculous phrase as they do no drink, nor do they yearn for alcohol, and second, don't just stand there like a bunch of fucking bananas, help me."
"You really can't just lift his arm off of you and get up? Look at him, he's practically skin and bone. I've never known him to have any strength." Diego mocked his brother.
"Are we just going to ignore her use of swear words?" Luther asked, clearly confused as to how Diego just brushed past it.
"She's British. They seem to love their swear words." Diego smiled slightly as he thought of his other British acquaintance.
"Yes, now piss off Space Boy. I can use the English language however the fuck I like." she said through a clenched jaw, "Anyway, your brother is stronger than he looks so, help me?"
She hesitated before saying, "Please?"

A/N- Hi again. It's been a while. Year 12 got really hectic really quick and I'm pretty sure Year 13 will be just as busy so I'm sorry but updates are gonna be few and far between. However, when they do come out I can say that you will be getting a lot more interaction between Diego and Y/N as the story goes on it's just I have certain things that have to happen at certain points. Anyway, hope you're all doing good. See you next time.
