I purchased this book at my local Barnes and Nobel on the 19th October 2014 (as many readers [read: teenage girls] had managed to get it early by asking for it in the back). The woman at the desk got it for me, and off I went home to read it with a nice cup of Starbucks.
I returned it the next day (and customer service wasn't surprised).
The story is a typical 'good girl meets bad boy, she changes him, they fall in love and breed like bunnies,' one that is typical authorship of a horny teenage girl (and, though it appears to have been written by one when we take the grammar and lack of any substance in this book, the author is in her mid-twenties.. let that sink in). The fact that Anna Todd has the audacity to advertise this as a unique story is absolutely ridiculous. And when you realise that her readership is made up of mostly young girls who worship this unlikable, weak protagonist? It sends shivers down my spine.
