Chapter 17 - Prince & Princess

I was dumbstruck when my eyes witnessed none other than Professor Ethos standing right in between Ethan and Elizabeth like the great wall of China. He doesn't seem pleased and growled at both of them like some wild beast who failed in his duty of protecting his clan.

My eyes roamed at Elizabeth who just rolls her eyes at him and scoffed displeased, "Dear Ethos, you're in no position to tell me how should I behave to my little sweet brother. It's my choice"

Ethos eyed her with rage and fretted, "Elizabeth, Mind your tongue. You are in no position either to defy me. Do not forget what it could cost you if you misbehave with me"

She scowled but held her tongue back as if seriously took his threat. Reluctantly, she releases Ethan's neck and withdrew back. As soon as he was free, he appeared right next to me, yanked me into his arms protectively. I felt like a glass that needs his protection to survive neither I will be faded in the darkness.

Nobody can be more confused than I am at this moment. Here, Ethan the Vampire is trying to protect me at any cost as his sister wants to kill me and then there is Ethos who has two faces in the day he's Professor and by night he's a Blood ducking creature maybe the head of these two dangerous Vampires.

"Stay calm, I am here" He whispered in my ear so I could relax my nerves.

I nod still having no idea why he is trying to save me? What could he get in return even if he succeeded in it?

Then I felt an intense dark gaze at me which urged me to tilt my head up to find Ethos is staring right at me. Several goosebumps travelled down to my body leaving me breathless. He seems utterly dangerous to be more than these two but there was also a familiar warmth about him which I couldn't figure out yet.

But still, I am not sure if he is a vampire or not but he is a Vampire that's why he has power over them right?

Several questions but no answers. I just don't understand...

"Who is this, Ethan?" Ethos asked him pointing his finger at me.

Ethan looks at me and sighed, "It doesn't concern you".

My eyes go wide at his response as Elizabeth laughed bitterly intentionally provoking Ethos with her words.

" See, Ethos that's how much you have control over my little brother wait..."

She paused, "The crowned Prince of Arrow Rock is being softy on a filthy human girl, and look at you having no control over him such a shame ".

Ethos grimaced at her words and shouts, " ENOUGH, Elizabeth. Leave now".

Elizabeth eyes shifts in between us and there were intense hate for us as she warned Ethan, " It's not the end, brother. I'll be back soon".

In a blink of an eye, wearing her cape she vanishes in thin air it does seem like that like magic. Ethan seems relaxed after her departure as Ethos turned back to us staring at me again.
