The pain has always been secondary in my life because my mom always made sure of my safety and happiness. My life revolved around only my studies and her since I was born so the true pain of love never reached me before Ethan.

Ethan introduced me to this pain, the very same one which is now agonizing my broken heart and I have no way to numb it because he has lent me this pain that is slowly eating my soul from inside and tainting my spiritual heart.

"You're the key"

These words were still condoning my ears, they are torturing my soul forth and back and propelling me to be a fool in love.

"He played with me," Tears of agony have already drenched my cheeks.

And then the scene of him telling me about Rose suddenly flickered in my mind as if it's a sign for me to not trust Elizabeth this easily.

What if she is lying to me and trying to turn me against Ethan?

She always wanted to hurt Ethan?

But still, I can't even bring myself to trust him after knowing Rose is alive and he was hiding this from me especially when we are progressing in our relationship.

"Elizabeth?"

I looked at her and frowned at noticing Elizabeth's face filled with pain and her signature smirk wasn't visible over her lips anymore.

"Why is he acting as if he truly cares for me, Elizabeth?" I asked in an enraged tone filling hurt beyond deliverance.

Elizabeth shook his head at me while letting out a deep chuckle that does not reach her beautiful eyes.

"Seriously? How dumb you can be, Bethany?" She snorted and rolled her eyes "He cares for you? Does he?"

It wasn't a question, she was answering me bitterly that I shouldn't think too much, care too much or trust him too much.

"This care changes so quickly that you can't even see when the person who once cared for you has now replaced you and your hurt doesn't affect that person any longer so don't be so sure about care, it changes with time"

She sighed with hurt flashing in her eyes and continued...

"Once Ethan cared about Rose, now he cares about you and later when Rose will return, he'll again care about her. So you see, changing the person he cares for has always changed with time. It's a prevailing truth dear, the more you fight it, the more you'll get hurt so don't be so sure that he cares for you"

Her words were bitter yet they appear to be the truth, they make sense and I can't deny them any longer.

"So he has been lying to me this whole time?" I closed my eyes embracing the pain he has caused me because I can no longer defend him.

"Bethany, give me your hand" Her words perplexed me but hesitantly I lift my hand toward her

"Good Girl, now I want you to trust me for a few moments," Her words seem sincere to me

I inhaled sharply and nodded to her.

I never thought I will be here trusting Elizabeth who once wanted to kill me.

"Bethany, truth is always bitter so just don't let it break you," She says frankly and took my hand in hers.

Before I could ask her anything, she started chanting loudly some strange words which were beyond my understanding or I could able to hear clearly but they have been emitting lights around us. Soon we both were enveloped by a bright light that blinded my eyes completely.
