Chapter sixteen:
The day had unravelled into beautiful moments, as I had the best tour guide in the Seoul, and poor him ended up taking the whole day off his work.
We had visited Bukchon Hanok Village, which was a true treasure. The houses in the village date back to 600 years old, and the most astonishing fact was that people occupied some of the houses.
Others became B&Bs and some were turned into museums, which gave us the chance to tour the house for true authenticity.
The afternoon was spent in one of the most luxurious and lively neighbourhood in Seoul - as I had been told and did confirm once I was there- called Itaewon.
The neighbourhood buzzed with life and people. There were plenty of restaurants along the streets, providing various choices for types of food and dining.
We wandered through the streets, passing live performers of dance and music. Food carts were also strongly present and souvenir shops had plenty of gifts to offer, and I did buy a lot for my family and friends.
We had dinner there and headed back to my hotel'
'Are you sure you don't want to spend the night at my place?' he asked again ' I mean the bed fits both of us, and I kind got used to waking up to the sight of you'
'I would love nothing more than that, but the company's party is tomorrow, and I have to get ready' I said 'and you've already missed a whole day of work today, I don't want that to happen tomorrow too' I added
The truth was that panic started to rise in me as the day ended, I loved every minute with Lee, and felt like I was falling for him madly, deeply and fast, very fast.
I just needed some time to pull the brakes and think this relationship
I knew what I wanted, which was him. But I didn't through. Know how it was going to end. My trip was going to be over in a couple of weeks. And each one of us would go back to their own lives, far from each other, and I didn't want to have a broken heart, I didn't want to end up crying and suffering.
So, I asked for some time to just clear my head and organise the whirlwind of thoughts that clouded my brain.
I insisted on Lee to leave at the lobby under the pretence of exhaustion and went up to my room after a quick kiss and a long warm hug.
Once inside my room, I dashed into my bathroom – which now seemed like a cave after seeing Lee's – stripped down of my clothes and took a really nice relaxing bath.
I lipped into my satin night gown and laid on my bed, gazing at the ceiling and contemplating these past days.
My brain dwelled in hundreds of scenarios, some made me smile, but most made me cringe. Because at the end, we both had our own separate lives established far from each other, even if we did end up having a long distance relationship, the distance gap was too distant.
I sighed wearily, feeling drained from all the useless thinking.
I would live now and worry about it later. I would try to treasure what I can and then deal with the consequences when their time came.
Morning came and I had slept like a rock!
It was a little past 9 am and I called in for room service. I was in a mood for me time.
Breakfast arrived and I positioned myself in the glorious balcony of my room, to enjoy both the view and the food.
A couple of minutes later, I heard a knock on my door and went to open it.
