Caleb's POV-

I went back to her cell and as soon as I entered the cell, her stance changed into rather defensive one and she stepped away.

I raised my hand up in surrender.
"Hey! I am not here to hurt you. I won't hurt you, I promise", I said as softly as possible. It is hard to be soft spoken when all your life you are trained to be as tough as iron.

She stood still. She did not even budge from her position.

Slowly, I approached her and I could visibly see her shaking in fear. I don't like seeing her like this.

"Don't be scared. I am not here to hurt you. I promise ", the way she is acting, I am sure that something really terrible happened to her.

"I will just ask you a few questions and you will have to just answer them in yes or no. Okay? Just nod if yes and shake your head if no"

She didn't even dare to look at me. Her eyes were fixed at the ground the whole time.

"So, you were rogue before this and we spotted two more rogues today near the border. And we suspect that they were here to get you ", as soon as those words left my lips, I saw something in her eyes other than fear.

Hope. And a tinge of happiness.

I smiled at that. And asked her softly,
"Do you think you know them?", and she looked up at me.

It was the first time she looked at me and I found her staring at me skeptically. I immediately understood what she is thinking?

"Hey, we won't hurt them okay? Dom and I have decided that we would let you go with them if they are your family or something. We know that what you did last year was out of desperation,  fear and defence. And it would be really unjust to keep you locked up here for the rest of your life. Just tell me, do you have any idea who they are?", I asked as gently as I can.

She looked here and there hesitantly as if she is thinking deeply.
After a minute, she nodded.

So that's a start of something, Drew interjected.

I agreed with him. She sat back on the bench she was sitting previously and I sat beside her. She flinched at first but later she relaxed.

"How are they related to you?"

She took my hands in her and started writing letters on it.

B...R....O... Before she continued, I interjected.

"He is your brother?"

She  nodded.

"He is the mate of my sister", I couldn't help but mutter and I saw a big smile making it's way on her face.

"Why did you attack the gaurd? What happened? Why are you so scared?", I couldn't help but ask and I saw that she tensed.

She started breathing heavily and started panicking.

I held her hand and started rubbing her back. I  said soothing words to her.

"It's okay.. you are fine now..  everything's going to be fine. We are going to send you back to your brother and you'll be free soon", I said the most cliched calming words ever. I don't know how to be a softy....
But my words seem to have calm her a bit but I could see that her past is painful.

I got up and was about to ask her the most important question.  Is she Alexander 's mate? But suddenly she  wrapped her arms around me and engulfed me in a hug.

She is crying and was writing something on my chest.

"Oh! Soon enough. There's just some important matters that need to be taken care of right now", I said truthfully and saw her smile falter a bit.

Fuck, now she thinks I am giving her false hope . I groaned internally.

I felt a bit awkward at being this close to other female that is not my mate.

I was about to break the hug and ask her about her mate when I suddenly heard someone clearing their throat beside me.

I know who it is. Drew know who it is. And we both know that now we are doomed.

Fucking great.

Lilly's POV-

I walked down towards the basement. When I asked Rey, he was hesitant at first but when I threatened him by saying that if he doesn't tell me where Caleb is, then I'll throw his fruit loops in the dustbin, he told me immediately.

As I passed by the cells, I felt strange. Heck, I find the idea of 'pack prison' being made under the Alpha's roof strange.

Some prisoners looked as if they are beaten very brutally and it was a very difficult sight for me to witness.

I reached the last cell and what I saw made my blood boil. A feeling of hurt and betrayal spurge throughout my heart.

I am furious, angry and hurt.

Caleb is embracing a girl. They are so damn lost in it that he did not even notice my presence. Seeing him this close to another female made my blood boil.  How can he do this?

And who is that girl?

I try to see her face but I couldn't as it is hidden behind Caleb's huge frame.

I cleared my throat to grab their attention and I saw Caleb physically stiffen.

He turned around to look at me and was clearly shocked to see me here. Now I see why Rey was being hesitant earlier.

So he also knew about it. I wonder how long it's been since he is seeing this girl. I could feel tears rising up my eyes at that thought.

This is something I never expected from Caleb. Here I was living in a fantasy that he will love me throughout his life and never let me go. We will grow old together and live happily ever after but this guy has other plans.

I started storming back upstairs. I heard heavy footsteps following me, I started running. I don't want to listen to anything, any lie.

"Lilly stop, it's not what it looks like. Please baby, listen to me"

I ignored all his pleas, but suddenly I jerked backwards as he grabbed me by my elbow.

"Don't fucking touch me", I screamed.

He was about to say something when I raised my hand and beckoned him to stop.

"Don't. Just leave me alone", and I jerked my elbow away from him and started running to our room.
