Those last words caught me by surprise, I believe somehow I believe everything he’s telling me, but those last words make my eyes widen. It felt like a secret no one should know, something like a burden..
I knew what it meant it was on the tip of my tongue but.. I couldn't remember, where have I heard that before??
“Midnight..that was why this all happened... you see” he sighed “It made you powerful...really halfling are everywhere this generation its against the rules, but you Midnight are a special case.” He paused.
“Your father was prince of light and magic, you mother however was no royalty, she was from the kingdom of light but a halfling herself, darkness and magic though no one could ever tell.. your mother was the last person someone would think would come from darkness, no one knew until..”
“I was born...” I said looking down, and he nodded.
“You where quite obvious, the hair for one..” I look at it looking at the white streak, and something came in my mind.
“You told me I was Magic and Night, not shadows or darkness what does that mean?”
“Night has light, and so do you thats your special case, you have shadow and dark magic but its not the normal type, normally halflings connect to one Element more than the other. Like your brother for example I bet you can guess what he is” I considered everything he just said and he was right I knew.
“He’s Darkness but like my Mother..he isn't evil or cruel”
“Welldone Midnight you're paying attention”
“Well like you said, if its a dream if I go along maybe it'll end” I smirked and he grinned.
“You where always stubborn” We sat they're facing each other it was quiet, I was right though it was raining all they're was was the sound of rain hitting the roof and smell of burnt brownies.
“Well... come back tomorrow, I’ll be right here any time” He got up from his chair.
“If I don’t wake up before that” He grinned again.
“Oh I almost forgot” He put his hand in his pocket and pulled something out... the crystal, he put it my hand.
"Stay safe Midnight..." And in a blink I was outside the rain had stopped I look at my watch its only 11:01.
