"Oh my God," I groaned, "you take longer than I do in the bathroom!" I knocked on the bathroom door for the millionth time tonight. "Alana, where's your hairdryer?" I heard him sift underneath the sink, through all the cleaning supplies. "Why do you need it?" I rolled my eyes. "Hey," he poked his messy haired head out of the bathroom door, "my hair needs just as much maintenance as yours does, so could you be a dear and go get me your hairdryer?" He batted his eyelashes, mock-pouting. I rolled my eyes again and strutted towards my room to get the damned hairdryer for Myles' annoying hair.
You know how when you love your best friend to death, but you just want to strangle them all the time? Yeah, that pretty much sums up my relationship with Myles. I have known him since I was 11 years old, when he and his family moved in next door to us. My mom, being one of the moms who, in good heart, tried to befriend everyone in the neighborhood, sent me over their to invite them to lunch with us one afternoon. As soon as Myles' mom, Debbie, opened the door with a huge, almost fake-looking smile plastered on her face, it reminded me of my mom, and I knew they would get along just fine. Myles, on the other hand, reminded me of a little chihuahua when we met; he was shy and had ears too big for his head. But when we started talking, there was something about us that just...clicked. I don't know how to explain it. I just knew we were going to be good friends.
