I grabbed the metal hairdryer off of my white vanity and sauntered over to the bathroom again. "Here." I knocked on the door once again. Myles opened the door, in nothing but boxers. "Gross. Put some clothes on, we have to go." He took it, and I turned around and headed to the living room. I plopped down on the couch. "Why did I invite you?!" I groan loudly, even though he can't hear me over the roar of the hairdryer. I pull out my phone and open Twitter. I was only on my timeline for a few seconds before Alycia, my little sister, texted me.
Are you even coming?😑
She texts, referring to her dinner that I promised to take her to. She graduated from Dublin High School last week, and I was unable to go because I had finals all last week. So I told her to pick where she wanted and I'll pay, so I could see her.
Well we'll never leave if Myles doesn't hurry the hell up😒
I texted her back. "We're going to be late Myles!" The hairdryer is off, but I hear him getting dressed.
Ooh he just wants to look sexy for me😍😏
I chuckled at her text. Alycia has always had this silly crush in Myles, even though she's much younger than us. When she found out we were moving in together for our senior years at San Francisco State University, she practically begged me to let her spend the night all the time. Just then, Myles came out of the bathroom. He had on a black jacket, dark denim jeans, and Timberlands. His hair, which took all that time, actually did look nice. "How do I look?" He looked at his reflection in the full length mirror in the entrance. "Like we're going to be late. Let's go." I playfully shoved him out the door.----they're in the car on the way---
I glanced over at Myles, who has been on his phone the entire car ride. "Who ya texting?" I asked jokingly. I think I caught him by surprise because he looked up, caught off guard." Huh? Oh...no one, just, uh Kayla." He looked down, avoiding my glare. Kayla Peterson. The slut that almost broke Myles. Her and Myles were together up until about a year ago, after her dumped her. They were together for a year and a half, and they seemed so happy and into each other. He treated her like a princess and always bought her gifts. He bragged about her constantly. He was proud to be hers. They were perfect together. Low and behold, Kayla was cheating on him with Myles' younger brother, Jake. It nearly sent Myles over the edge when he found out the truth on accident while using Kayla's phone and seeing a text from Jake. He was in a deep depression for months; he wouldn't eat, sleep, and he barley talked to me. He cut off all ties with Jake, and became, well, a manwhore. He sees girls and himself as just sexual objects now. It's really frustrating coming home from work all the time when there's a girl leaving, half naked.
"I thought we were past her." I said monotonically, staring straight ahead at the road. He didn't say anything. He just bit the inside of his cheek, something he always does when he doesn't want to talk.
"We're here." I put the car in park and get out silently. Myles follows behind. Almost immediately, I spotted Alycia's bright pink dress and amber curls. When she saw us, her face lit up almost as bright as her dress. "Lana!" She ran to me and embraced me lovingly. "You look hot!" She smirked at me and I smiled. "Speaking of hot..." She whispered to me and glanced at Myles. "Hey Alycia." Myles wrapped his arms around her shoulders. He has no idea she has a crush on him. I stood behind a clueless Myles as he hugged my sister, so only I could see the face she was making. Her eyes were rolled back, and her mouth formed an 'o' shape, as if they were having sex right here in the parking lot. I couldn't help but burst into laughter. "What?" Myles turned around, a confused look on his face. "Nothing, let's go inside." I said, still smiling as we went into Alycia's choice restaurant, the Cheescake Factory.[What did you think??]
