Chapter 20: Big Family BBQ part two (Tony's, Dean's & Jamie's POV)

**TONY'S POV**

Sarah walked up to me placing an arm around my waist, I place my hand over hers. Throughout the years this woman has been my rock, she recognized Jodie as well. Dean is doing the rounds introducing her to the family she's smiling away chatting, I notice Dean has a tight grip on her hand but he keeps looking my way. I wonder why he's doing that, Sarah cuddles into me some more, I look down at her beautiful face. "Sar, what's up love?"

"Dean has noticed something is up with you."

"I noticed that."

"I wouldn't tell him unless she wants you to. It's not worth it." My wife said.

"What's not worth it?" His eyes haven't left mine as he's talking to Sarah, she said not to tell him. But he knows we are keeping something from him, he's too good at spotting a lie. With a smile on his face, that I know he wants to talk to me in private soon. Pulling Jodie up next to him she's smiling not noticing who we both are I am taking that as a good sign.

"Tony, Sarah this is my girlfriend Jodie."

Sarah puts on her brilliant smile that she does, "Nice to meet you, love, thanks for putting that big goofy smile back on his face."

Jodie smiles at Sarah, "Nice to meet you too, thank you. Yeah, he does have a goofy smile on his face doesn't he." She lets out a laugh, "Hi Jodie, nice to meet you." I said, trying to sound as kind as I can. The two ladies chatted together for a few minutes, Dean still not taking his eyes off, of me.

"Tony this way please." I just nod my head at him and follow him towards the laundry room, we stopped and stood in the doorway I waited for him to talk.

"What are you keeping from me brother?"

"Nothing Dean"

He cuts me off, "Stop we are both old enough to spot a lie from a mile away. You know Jodie and you are keeping something from me, why? I thought I knew all your ex-girlfriends?"

"Stop, she's not an ex"

"Good to know, is she one of the many you had slept with before Sarah had asked you to be her boyfriend?" I laughed then, coming from him who has slept with countless females in his time, that my little list is like a drop in his list. "Dean for the love of God I've only been with six women in my lifetime, I know who I've been with. Do you?"

He chuckles, "Ok good, I never want to date someone who's been with one of my brothers. So how do you know her?"

"Cause she used to date Sarah's ex Alexis birth father."

"Oh... when?"

"Um, well and truly before she had met her late husband. So, in her early teens or twenties, by the way, she acted she didn't remember us both so that's a bonus."

"Then what was with your reaction?"

"It didn't go down well when we had last seen her." Come on Dean remember mate, then I see that brain of his ticking over and his work it out. "Hold up, was this the ex that wanted joint custody of Alexis?"

"Yes, that is her." Then I see fear in his eyes, "Do I need to be worried about her doing that to me?"

"Unsure, what vibe do you get from her?" Hope she has grown up from that, I haven't seen my brother smile like that since Dana I want that brother back. "She doesn't want to be their stepmom unless they ask her to. I personally can only see them saying it because they love her cooking. But it won't be all of them, most likely just the twins." Good to hear, and that does sound like those two to a T. "So, we are good now? Can I go play with my grandchildren?"

"Don't need to ask me, Tony, go lead the way I want to play with my great-niece and nephew's too."

"Sorry, Dean you have to wait until after Grandad gets to see them first." I quickly turned around racing back to where I had seen my oldest daughter, with a big smile on my face when I spotted baby Catherine on the rug playing with her brother Zeb. The pair spotted me and their little faces light up, I get down to them picking up Catie giving her a hug and a kiss before her brother Zeb ran into my arms for a hug. "Hi, my little Kitty Cat, and Zebbie where's your big brother Nate?"

"Most likely running around the backyard chasing Uncle Jamie and Uncle Aaron around." Alexis said smiling at me, "Sounds about right. How's it going?"

"Hard dad, real hard."

"What has Luke done?" God, I hope that husband of hers hasn't done anything to her. "No, not Luke dad. He's been good, just working so much that we don't see him and the kids just fight so much."

"Have said a million times if you want mom or me over to help out with the kids, we are just a phone call away."

"What? Your board, aren't you? Now that you only have two kids in the house you both don't know what to do with yourselves."

"Just because you and your sisters no longer live with us doesn't mean we are board, it's just not as crazy but then again it comes with more worry. Like what are your sisters up to at their collages are they behaving?"

"We are..." Billie said laughing, "Only doing what you and mom would have done!" Oh, good god that scares the shit out of me. I looked at my youngest daughter's, "The pair of you are only here cause you wanted to meet Jodie. Also, that worries me, because we got into a lot of trouble."

"Dah!" Said Max.

**DEAN'S POV**

Wow, I am shocked that she is the same lady my brother is talking about; I had only heard of what had happened I was overseas at the time so wasn't very helpful to them. I don't know if I should question her about it or not, she wouldn't have known that Sarah and Tony got married, they had only been dating at the time.
