Chapter 16

"Welcome back to the main hall, we will now announce your groups." the organizer announced.

Minji nudged at me, "To be honest, I don't think we'll be in the same group since it's already fortunate that we're roommates." She whispered to my ear.

I nodded at her, agreeing that we most probably won't be in the same group. I'm just hoping to be grouped with the people I know. But then again the only people I know are the NCT 2020 members. The only staff members I know are the people working under me, who are not participating in this camp. 

Can I hope that I'll be in the same group as Jaehyun?

"Haewon." Minji suddenly interrupted me from my thoughts.

I blushed at my unprofessional thought. Ever since I realized my feelings for him last night, he is the only thing I can think about.

"Judging by your red face, I'm assuming that you were thinking about Jaehyun." Minji commented in a whisper.

Her comment caused me to blush harder, "What about you? Are you hoping for you and Jaemin to be in the same group?" I asked her, trying to change the subject.

She shook her head, "The company knows about our relationship already. They'll probably separate us because they don't want any couples to be in the same group. The reason being they want everyone to focus on the tasks given in this camp." she explained to me when I gave her a confused look.

"Ah I see.." I muttered to her. I looked in front again to focus on the grouping announcement.

"And the last member for group 3, Na Jaemin."

I immediately look back to see Minji, who is already giving me an 'I-told-you-so' face. I smiled sheepishly back at her.

"Lee Minji."

"Hey at least you're in the group next to his, your group would line up next to his group." I said to her, trying to cheer her up.

"Jung Jaehyun."

I kept a smile in my face even though I was slightly disappointed. Minji seemed to notice it, "Hey, I'll keep your lover boy from all the females in our group, don't worry." she puffed her chest, causing me to laugh since it's funny how she's saying that while puffing her chest. 

"Nah, it's not like we're together. He can talk with anyone he wants." I said to her.

"Group 5, Kim Haewon."

"Oh looks like you'll be beside us anyways." Minji commented.

Please let someone I know be in this group as well.

"Lee Taeyong."

I sighed in relief and smiled widely when I heard his name, thank goodness. 

"Look over to Jaehyun oppa." Minji instructed me while pointing to where he was standing at. I looked over to see him looking at me with a frown.

Minji smirked and whispered to me, "Looks like he is jealous because someone smiled too brightly when Taeyong's oppa was mentioned."

I raised an eyebrow at her, not believing her. Regardless I still looked over to him, his frown immediately turned into a smile when I smiled at him.

Minji shook her head, "He's definitely head over heels for you." I blushed at her comment, breaking my eye contact with Jaehyun to look down at the floor.

We spent the whole day doing different kids of activities, specifically competing with other groups. The higher your group ranks in a game, the bigger points you would receive. My group is currently in 5th place, and we plan on aiming higher for the scavenger hunt scheduled tomorrow.
