Chapter 22

I opened my eyes to see something bright.

Ah a lamp.

I looked around to see that I'm in my room. What happened?

Memories of last night immediately flashed to my head in a speed of light. Tears started falling down from my eyes again, my heart hurting so much. I screamed with my whole heart due to the frustration and sadness.

Someone immediately ran to my room, "Haewon! You're awa- WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU?!" Minji immediately ran to me to hug me.

"It hurts.. It hurts so much." I said with clutching my heart. "I'm still mad at you for staying out under the rain but why is your heart hurting..?" Minji asked me in confusion.

I smiled painfully at her, trying to give her the most cheerful smile I can fake right now. "Jaehyun broke up with me."

I could see how Minji's jaw dropped and her eyes widening, "No, that's impossible, he loves you too much."

I then proceeded to tell her about what happened last night. After telling her the story, she immediately pulled me in for a hug again.

"He's an ass, you deserve better, Haewon." She said while hugging me who is still crying nonstop.

"What if I still hope though.. that it wasn't his decision.. that it was the company's decision, that he's equally as hurt as me right now." I looked at her with a small painful smile, laughing at how stupid I am.

She looked at me in pity and proceeded to hug me again. "Don't think about that, it'll hurt you more. Whatever happened, whatever the truth is, it happened all in the past now. I want you to know, I understand that his words hurt you. But you're worth so much more than just his ex girlfriend. You're an amazing daughter, an increadible stage manager, a great friend to the NCT members and you're my closest friend. You're a wonderful person, Haewon. Don't let him change who you are." She comforted me.

Her words encouraged me, making me feel better.

"Who brought me home though? I remember blacking out on the park." I asked Minji when I calmed down.

"Mark oppa brought you home, he was walking around the park with an umbrella for a new music inspiration before noticing that someone fainted while it was raining. When he checked the person and turns out to be you, he immediately brought you home." She explained to me while preparing tea since I was running on a fever.

"He wanted to take you to the hospital but you were supposed to be under house arrest right now since we don't want anyone associating you with the girl in the picture. So he had no choice but to bring you home." She continued.

I nodded at her, understanding what happened to me after I fainted. I looked down to my lap and played with my fingers, still feeling horrible.

But you must go through this, life goes on.

I took a deep breath, locking away my feelings deep inside. I'll let them out when I'm alone, I can't worry Minji more than I already did. Besides, I'm not letting myself mope around, sacrificing my work for someone who broke up with me and told me that I'm not worth.

"Let's go the company, I want to talk to them regarding my job."

BREAKING NEWS

NCT member Jung Jaehyun was confirmed to be dating the girl from the picture that was circulating around social media. However it was reported by SM that they had broken up before the picture was leaked out. 

"We apologize to fans who has supported Jung Jaehyun and NCT to bring his dating news. However, he has already broken up prior to the picture leaking out. We hope that you'll continue supporting Jung Jaehyun and NCT" -SM 

"I'm sorry to tell my fans that yes I dated the girl in the picture. However we had broken up before someone leaked the picture online. Once again I'm sorry for not considering my fans' feelings and I hope that you guys would continue supporting NCT." -NCT member, Jung Jaehyun

I sighed as I read the news announcement regarding the picture of me and my ex-boyfriend, guess that this is really happening. I knocked on the CEO's door and entered together with Minji.
