My body froze as I remained gripped onto the inside of Lisa's thighs.Thank god her back is to Luca and he's too small to see over the kitchen island. I hid crouched underneath her skirt, still, as the boy approached.
"Hi Mom, you're back."
I could hear his little feet shuffling in socks from the other side of the counter. Lisa's breath hitched and she stiffened in my hands as he came closer.
"Y-Yes sweetheart, I just got here. I only went home for a moment and then I accidentally took a nap." She'd turned her torso to face him slightly but she still had her underwear round one ankle and her left leg over my shoulder. I gently nudged it to the ground so that she could stand.
"Okay." There was a moment of silence as we wondered what the boy was going to do next. I can't see him, so I'm especially on edge. "Mom, can I get back to painting yet? I think Jennie put my apron in here..."
I could hear tiny footsteps again and I panicked, accidentally kneeling on Lisa's knickers, causing her to slightly trip and step on my pinkie. I bit down hard on my bottom lip to suppress crying out in pain as she found her footing.
"Luca no!" She yelled. "Don't come over to this side there's....spilled grape juice on the floor. Yes, grape juice splattered everywhere and I need to clean it up, so stay on that side for a minute, will you?"
I wriggled out from underneath Lisa's dress, impressed at how fast she is at thinking on her feet, as she looked down at me apologetically. I'm assuming Luca's still stood at my kitchen door because Lisa proceeded to make a show of ripping off some kitchen towel and bending over to 'clean the floor'. She suddenly stood up, and I smoothed down my hair and wiped at my mouth, before appearing next to her.
"Oh Luca!" I gave him my best surprised smile. "Hi. Isn't your mom so clumsy, grape juice was just...everywhere!"
"Yeah, everywhere!" Lisa waved her arms for emphasis and I quickly removed the tissue that was bunched up in her hands. Tissue that didn't have a drop on it. But luckily Luca, like most 5 year old's, was too occupied in his own world to notice.
"Hey Jennie, can I paint again now?" He trailed his large eyes over my kitchen, probably searching for where I'd placed his apron.
I turned to Lisa for guidance, but she gave a small shake of the head that I'm pretty sure meant no.
"I think we've had our fill of art for the day kid, plus, your Mom bought ingredients for dinner." I gestured towards the plastic bag on the table. "How's about you help me rustle up some fried chicken and veggies?"
"Oh, okay." He shrugged his shoulders, a little disappointed, but at least he didn't cry.
"Come here Luca, let's wash your hands over the sink and then you can cook with Jennie, hhmm?" Lili held out her hand to him and he took it, reluctantly agreeing to help out.
Which was perfect as it gave me just the right opportunity to bend down and swipe Lisa's underwear off of the floor before the child saw it.
I think it's best if in the future we try and keep such matters, strictly in the bedroom.

Today was the day we were hanging out for Lisa's birthday. Technically, her birthday is tomorrow but I didn't want to do something on a Sunday night when I knew Luca would have to be in bed early for school, so it worked out perfectly to celebrate on Saturday.
I'm also certain that Jaehyun would say no to Lisa spending her actual birthday with their gay neighbour instead of with him, so settling for today keeps everyone happy.
