Surprise?

For the next few hours all of the siblings watched Brooklyn-Nine-Nine. It was hilarious to say the least. Mila had tears of laughter coming out of her eyes and Luca was sobbing with laughter. Lorenzo let out a few high pitched laughs and screams during the course of one episode. Gio watched the episode intently trying to figure out all of the mysteries before Jake Peralta did. Francesco studied the show carefully whilst trying not to laugh, especially at all of the lame jokes.

Alessandro, Vincenzo and Riccardo walked in the house. They shared a look because of how quiet the house was. Normally, Lorenzo would be singing or cooking. Gio would be annoying or pranking someone. Luca usually hid in his room and Francesco would be out with his friends. But, now that Mila was home she changed the way their lives worked, in a good way. She was the glue to the family.

"Mila?" Riccardo looked around the house.

Alessandro ignored the odd feeling. "Where is she?"

"Where are they?" Vincenzo walked around the house, followed by his father and oldest brother. They heard yelling and laughing in the theatre room. Cautiously, they walked inside, to witness all of their siblings either laughing or trying not to laugh. Alessandro smiled slightly at the sight of them bonding.

"Oh hey!" Mila tackled the three of them into a warm hug.

"How was your first day?"

"Did you make friends?"

"Do you like the school?"

"Are people nice to you?"

Mila was bombarded with questions. She shook her head and chuckled. "Stop! Yes, everything at school was fine and I became friends with Luca's."

"That's good, bambina. I hope you had a fantastic day." Alessandro smiled.

"I did." Mila nodded.

Riccardo sighed. "I could never stop worrying about you at work. I knew you could handle yourself but I just needed to know that you were happy and safe."

"Aw I'm fine, you don't have to worry about me." Mila tapped his cheek lightly and placed a soft kiss.

Vincenzo hugged her and kissed her forehead. The episode finished and they all walked into the dining room. Riccardo stopped when he saw a folded piece of paper addressed to 'family'. He picked it up and opened. The rest of Mila's family gathered around to read this mysterious letter. Mila smiled widely when she saw her dad holding the letter, she wanted to express how she felt.

When they finished reading it, most of them had tears streaming from their cheeks. Lorenzo and Luca were sobbing whilst hugging each other. Francesco gave Mila a sad smile and looked up to the ceiling. Gio let a stray tear escape his eye. Riccardo hugged the life out of Mila and whispered sweet nothings and Mila had more tears streaming down her face, this was supposed to be a happy moment but it turned into a funeral. Vincenzo sat on the chair nearby and tapped his leg, thinking about everything as tears streamed down his face. Alessandro studied Mila as a small smile graced his lips, thinking about how courageous his sister was.

"Mila, how many times do I have to tell you to stop with the sappy shît. I don't cry." Francesco tried to convince himself, whilst letting out a humourless chuckle. Mila smiled at him and shrugged.
