Chapter X - Thoughts

"Hey" Chris smiled as he sat on the chair in front of the table.
"Hi, are you done with your work?" I smiled back. There was this awkward feeling. This is the first time I met up with a person I met online.
"My next shift's after lunch" he answered.
"Really appreciated you helping me" he told me, smiling.
"Uhm sure. So, how's your girlfriend?" I asked him. What an awkward question.
"She's beyond perfection. She's caring, loving, funny, adorable and everything I could've asked for. I love her."
Love? Tssss, I thought.
"And I know I sound crazy, I'm only 17 and most people would say I'll meet more people in the future, but I really think - no, feel. I really feel that she is 'the one' for me, the one that'll stay by my side forever."
Forever? Hahahaha.
Chris is handsome and all and I do adore his looks, but only his looks. I have to admit, he really sounds crazy telling me his girlfriend is 'the one' for him. He's got a lot more to experience in life... and it's crazy - the idea of love, how your feelings for someone can drive you crazy or simply how love drives you crazy. Well, love is crazy.
"How many years have you been together?" I asked him.
"Almost 2 years now" he answered.
"Uhm... Stay strong" I'm laughing at myself inside. Isn't that what people say to couples? Stay strong? I really have no idea.
"Thank you" That Australian accent...
"That's why I need your help, I feel that she feels I don't prioritize her more or I mean, I don't make her feel my one and only or feel special anymore. And it's also been awhile since we really had a very romantic date." he explained.
All of a sudden, I thought of my dad and April. How their marriage didn't work out because they often fought and misunderstood each other, but every relationship has that, I think. That's the reason they told me and told others. Another reason was April cheated on dad with Anderson, surely they didn't mention that to others, April will be humiliated, embarrassed and judged. Well, that's her consequence.
Last time I visited Australia, I heard April and Renee's mom, Pia, talking about dad. April told Pia that years after I was born, she felt dad never treated her special anymore. I argued with that in my thoughts. Even when I was young back then, I could see all the efforts dad put into to make their relationship work and to make her the most blessed and special woman in the world.
"So?" Chris asked. I was too busy with my thoughts I didn't hear what he said next.
"So, what?" I asked.
"Will you help me? The romantic beach date?" He asked me again.
"You sure you want help from someone you just met?" I asked him in a sarcastic tone.
"I'm sure." He said.
"Okay! When?" I asked.
"Tomorrow night, 8pm. Here on the beach" He said.
"Tomorrow night? You're kind of in a hurry" I told him.
"That's how special she is to me" He smiled as he was getting for his wallet inside his pocket.
"Nathalia Reed's her name" His smile was not his normal smile when he showed me the picture of his girlfriend, he's smiling like an idiot.
"It's like I already saw her face before" I whispered to myself.
"Triangle of Love" he suddenly told me. He heard what I whispered.
"What?" I asked him, confused.
Triangle of Love? Isn't that ma's favortie tv show, I just watched? I asked myself. And I remembered.
"Georgette! She's Georgette? In Triangle of Love?" I was surpised.
"Yes, I'm so proud of her" He said.
"Woah. She's good" I was like fangirling, in a way.
"I know. She's leaving for Alaska, the day after tomorrow for a new movie. And, I'm thinking of proposing before she leaves"
"WHAT" I was shocked!
First, he told me that he feels his girlfriend is 'the one' for him - that's already crazy but that was just what he felt, that was just what he thinks of. I never thought he'll propose right away.
"You're a crazy guy. Isn't she only 16 years old?!" I asked him.
"When she turns 18, that is when I'm going to marry her. For now, I'm just going to propose. I want her to know, I really really love her and I want her to know I'll never leave her side" he explained.
"What if she says no to your proposal?" I asked him. Negative vibes all over me.
He made a sigh.
