Chapter eleven

Affan is in the library of Birmingham, but he can't concentrate as it's obvious he's holding a book upside down.
   Why can't I stop thinking about her? why am I this helpless? why can't I have her all to myself? His course mate William who's a white English guy, interrupted his thoughts by snapping his fingers to his face.

   Hey buddy what were you thinking about? William asked in a curious tone.

   Well I came here to read.

   To Read?....come on buddy we are on a semester break and you are here reading?

   Yes William I think I'm done reading, anyways it's almost a 2 weeks before resumption.

You're indeed a nerd.

Well i just want to go back to my hotel room, ummm I need to take some nap.

   Fine, i'm coming with you.

   What?...why would you come with me?...didn't you come here to read? Affan asked with a surprised look.

   Well nope, actually I tracked your phone's location and tadaan...I'm here  he said with a smirk....besides we are the top best students at our department, you are first and I'm second, so don't give me that look I'm still good.

   Excuse me gentlemen, you are disturbing the peace of others, if you aren't here to read, you are most welcome to exit the library. whispered one the librarians to Affan & William interrupting their conversation.

   Sorry ma'am, William apologizes as he left the library while dragging Affan by his right hand.

   Where are you taking me to?...I told you I'm going to take a nap.

  Come on let's have some fun, ever since I've known you I've never seen you have fun to pass time.
 
  Like? asked Affan as he rolled his eyes while walking behind William as he continued to drag him.
 
   Like hanging out with girls, surfing at one of the beaches on weekdays.

  You know I'm not that type of guy.

   Yes I know you aren't that type of guy, but please you need to enjoy life before your time ends. William said as he smiled.

   Owkayyy I'll do as you say, after all you are my one and only friend in this country. He said before getting into the car.

   Now you are talking buddy! William said as he drove the car as fast as the wind as they headed to the beach, and when they got there the first thing William did was change into his surf wear grabbed his surfboard and ran straight to the beach while Affan stood behind him coz he's wearing just a T Shirt and a jean, because it's useless getting practicing with Will as he has never surfed in his entire life which was also why William didn't spend much time surfing in the beach.

    I'll drop you at your hotel buddy.

   Alhamdulillah ( I thank Allaah ), I'll finally take some rest.  Affan said.

   But before that, we are going on a long drive.

    Oh no! you are the worst friend ever, I hate you William. He said in a gibberish tone.

   And I love you . William mimicked him in a gibberish tone too which made them both laughed at each other.

  Owkay then I can see how tired you are, so in that case i won't take you on a long drive anymore.

So you've changed your mind? Hope you aren't changing to something I'd end up preferring to a long drive.

  No i'll just drop you at your hotel.

  Thanks buddy. Affan said with a relieved smile.

      By the way William, I'm greatful to Allaah that I found a friend like you, I mean I'm this kind of boring person but you don't get tired of me, I know how hard it is for you buddy.

       And I'm also greatful that I found you as a friend too, I'm also this kind of unserious human being when it comes to studies, but your company made me serious and now I'm the second best in our department, I'll always be indebted to you for the rest of my life you taught me that learning can be fun too.

     Don't thank me bro, instead thank my Amal she made me who I am today.

   Sorry it's not important, let's forget about it.

   Hmm something is definitely fishy.

   Hope you aren't hiding anything from me.

   No I'm not hiding anything, I just miss my naughty sister.

   You always talk about your mischievous sister, I'd love to meet her some day.

    Affan! Shouted William.

     Hey Will you scared me, can't you talk softly...and what was the need to shout?

     I snapped my finger at your face several times and even called you but you were lost in thoughts again, you didn't even notice that we've arrived.

    Sorry dude, and thanks. He said as he opened the door of the car to leave.

   Wait...Are you okay? Asked William

    Yes I am, but why did you ask?

  I just still feel like something is bothering you, and as a friend I'm supposed to help you out, please let me know why you are always lost in thoughts.

  It's nothing buddy, I'm fine I'll chat you up later.

Are you sure you're okay?

  I'm completely fine Will.

   Ok if you say so.
