Chapter eight

Affan left the house without informing anyone,Umma is very worried and tensed,Ummi had to call Mukhtar & Abba to know of Affan's whereabout,but to no avail because the last time Mukhtar saw Affan was when he dropped him,while Abba isn't picking up his phone as usual because his phone is always on silent or he's just probably ignoring the calls,Ummi & Bahijja are worried sick on Umma's health, it's been long they saw her like that,all of a sudden they heard Abba making the tasleeem.
    
     Assalamu Alaykum

      Wa Alaykum Salam. they all replied together.

   Modibbo Affan is missing,our son is missing,he's missing.  Umma cried to Abba.

    Yes Abba he has been missing since morning, Ummi said in a tensed tone.

     Don't worry he isn't missing,I know where he is. Abba said in his thick voice.

      Then where has he been? please call him I want to speak to my son, I've been worried for no reason.

      Ummi,leave this house & stay at their Bahijja's house for one month.  Abba said.

     What! Why should she do that? after all you haven't called Affan yet, and you saw how worried I was. Umma said in a retaliating tone.

     Why can't she go to Bahijja's house, after all she's Ummi's best friend, her father is one of my friends & his wife is also a good friend of yours, and Bahijjat has been staying with us ever since Affan arrived just do as I say Zinaru, anyways Ummi pack some of your clothes along because you'll be staying there for three months.

    Three months! Ummi gave Abba a shocking look, while Umma stood there dumb founded.
   
    One thing is clear to the girls that Abba is hiding something, they both went upstairs to do some packings.

    Ummi I'm sure something is fishy.

    Yes I also noticed it Bahijjat, that is why I turned my phone on recording mode and left it on the couch, now I'll find out why Abba wants me to spend three months at your house.

   Are you out of your mind? what if you are caught, you know how your father is, but you've decided to take this suicidal risk.

Be positive dear, nothing will happen to us In Sha Allaah.

You know what, there is a saying in Fulani that goes this way "Disaster on its own is running away, while you are chasing after it".

   Don't worry, I kept it upside down on the couch behind Umma, so Abba won't find out.

   Wallahi (I swear by Allaah) I'm already shivering because of what you just did.

   Don't worry dear, let's hurry up and pack everything.

   Ok, but once you are exposed we are done for, because Abba will blame the both of us. Bahijjat said in a frightened tone.

  Ok packing is done let's go downstairs.

     Ok Ummi, but I'm still scared.

      Me too, let's drag the boxes before Abba notices my phone.

   When they got there Abba had already left while Umma was crying profusely.

    What happened Umma? You know I don't like seeing you cry. Bahijjat said.

    So you both haven't left yet! Abba yelled at the both of them.

   We're done packing.

   Ummi took her phone out immediately and saved the recording,  as she ran with Bahijjat, while leaving her crying mom in the sitting room.
   
    Wait, so the both of you are still here.
