Bittersweet Tragedy

I woke up to hear a familiar voice, I did not want to open my eyes. "I know your up you might as well face me now" Adam said. I soon open my eyes, Adam gave me a big hug. "Please don't ever scare me like that again Lizzie" he whispered. I honestly felt bad now, I was all the family he had left. "I'm sorry Adam I really am I didn't mean to get into a fight, I promise" I said looking at him. I never apologize for any of my actions before but I saw how worried he looked. "Don't worry Layla told me it was a long time coming, I'm surprise you kept your posier for so long" he said. I was so thankful he understood. We heard the door open and turned our heads, "Hello I'm Dr. Cullen you must be the Miller family". I looked up and I swore my heart stopped. This was the hottest doctor I have ever seen, even hotter than Mcdreamy.

Our eyes met for a second and I saw his face soften. "Hello Dr. Cullen, I'm Adam Miller and this is my younger sister Elizabeth Miller" Adam said standing up to shake his hand. Dr.Cullen came closer to the bed, I felt my cheeks heating up. "Hello Elizabeth, how are you feeling" Dr. Cullen said. I really hoped I wasn't looking like a deer in headlights. I cleared my throat "I feel..feel fine, other than a sore nose" I said looking down. I didn't want to meet his eyes again, I knew I would just get lost in his golden eyes. Maybe I got a concussion I thought, I never acted this strange.

"Will she be fine Doctor" Adam said out loud. Dr.Cullen looked threw his chart in his hand. "Hmm yes it was just a mild nose bleed, you might have fainted because of the adrenaline rush" he said. Adam looked relieved and he grabbed my hand. "It seems my nurses ran Elizabeth blood test, since you are her legal guardian I do have to tell you she did have levels of THC in her system" Dr. Cullen said looking at my brother. I knew now I was going to be in trouble. They both looked at me with disappointing looks on there face. Can someone please knock out me I thought. "Explain Lizzie, NOW" Adam said angrily. I looked down at my hands not wanting to see anyone's face. "Okay look it's not what you think, I'm not a druggie, I just may have took a small edible before school to help calm my nerves" I said quickly. I knew Adam still would be pissed and boy was I right. " Do you understand how irresponsible that is, you can get taken away for doing that" he said. I felt my eyes water, but I knew crying wouldn't get me sympathy. "Adam I'm really sorry I won't do it ever again, I'm sorry" I said. Adam signed "we will talk about your punishment at home". I just stood quiet while Dr. Cullen and Adam talked. "I would like for her to come back in a few days so I can be sure everything is fine" Dr. Cullen said. A nurse soon came in telling Dr. Cullen he was needed to be somewhere else. He turned to us and said it was nice meeting us and he would see me soon. God he was so hot, he was flawless I bet all the nurses were over him. Soon I was able to get discharge from the hospital. Adam did not say one word to me. I knew I hurt him, I didn't think he would be this mad.

We got home and all I wanted to do was lay down and listen to music. But Adam made me go into the living room. "I know Mom and Dad aren't here no more and it's hard sometimes but I'm trying my best Elizabeth" Adam said standing in front of me. "I know Adam I am so sorry I didn't mean for any of this to happen I should have never fought, I should have never took the edibles" I said sobbing. Adam looked surprise to see me crying he sat next to me hugging me. "I miss them so much Adam, I know I'm not perfect and I been screwing up but I'm trying to be better, I'm sorry" I said. Adam kissed my forehead. " I know, I miss them too, I just don't want you to lie to me or hide things, I'm here to protect you, your all I have left, I can't lose you too". I felt bad, I knew I was a horrible sister but he still loved me even with all my flaws. "I can see a change, it's small but I see it, and because of that I'm only going to ground you for 2 weeks" Adam said. I was shocked I was ready for him to lock me up in the house till I turned 18. "Okay Adam, I love you" I said hugging him. "I love you to Lizzie".

I was suspend for 2 days, apparently so was Bridget. I head her face was so swollen and her nose was broken. I actually felt kinda bad, yeah she was a bitch but she didn't deserve a broken nose. Layla and Paul told me that we were the topic of the school and everyone sided with me. I missed them, I couldn't have friends over till my punishment was over. But Adam let Paul drop off any homework I was missing out on.

I stood in my room the whole weekend watching Grey's Antimony. I swear it always got me in my feelings. Me and Adam relationship got better, he seemed more protective over me.

Monday couldn't have came sooner, Adam dropped me off in the parking lot. "Have a good day Lizzie behave" he said winking. I turned around walking towards the school. I felt all eyes on me. Well here goes nothing I thought. I soon made my way to English. I saw Bridget looking down at her desk, she still had bruises, I actually felt bad for the girl. I walked to the back and sat down. "So how did you learn how to fight". I turned to see Renesmee, "my parents put me and my brother in self defense classes when we were young" I said not really wanting to talk about it. "Well you did a good number on her, she deserved it she bullied so many people" Renesmee said. I just nodded my head and tried to focus on the movie Mrs. Martinez put on. "Do you wanna hang out this weekend, I kinda need help with the English essay" Renesmee whispered. I looked at her surprised, she had straight As why would she need my help. It low key sounded weird but I knew I was still grounded. "I can't I'm grounded for 2 weeks" I said keeping my eyes on the movie. "Aw that's too bad maybe after your done being grounded" she said. This girl was not going to take no for an answer.

"Sure" I said not wanting to be rude. That was really weird I thought. I just broke a girls nose and she wanted to somewhat hang out with me. My other classes few by. People were giving me high fives all day which I thought was funny. I was happy when lunch came around.

"Your the talk of the school, can't believe were best friends with a celebrity" Paul said sarcastically. "Oh shut up Paul" I said while laughing. "So what's up with you and Cullens" Layla said. I was confused maybe she heard about the talk with Renesmee I had. "Umm I'm not sure I understand" I said looking at her. "Don't look but Alice keeps on staring at you" Layla said. I wanted to turn my head so bad, but I didn't wanna get caught staring back at her. "Like you guys said I'm a celebrity now, I guess that comes with fans" I said while sarcastically.

Lunch was over and I was heading to my Math class. I sat down waiting for class to start. "Well well heard you broke someone nose" Seth said while sitting in his seat. "She had it coming, so don't feel bad" Jacob said well also taking his seat. "I didn't expect you to be the fighting type" Seth said. "Well think again" I said getting out my homework. "Seth just leave it alone, I'm pretty sure she had enough people asking about it" Jacob said. It was true that's all anyone would talk about, it was getting old quickly. "Thanks" I said. I was thankful class started and I didn't have to answer anymore of Seth questions.

I was now headed to my last class of the day. I pulled my unfinished caves to my seat. I was glad the teacher was giving us another week to finish our project. As I was getting ready to start Alice came beside me. "Wow you really can paint" she said.

I wanted to know why she was staring at me during lunch but I didn't wanna be rude. "Thanks" I said still looking at my painting. "I'm Alice Cullens and this is my boyfriend Jasper Hale" she said smiling. "Hello ma'am" Jasper said. I was surprised by his county accent. I said hello, I was hoping they would leave me alone but Alice kept talking. "I love your style, we should go shopping sometimes" she said. I looked at her as if I heard ghost. What in the hell was going on, first Renesmee than Alice. I was starting to think this was a prank but they seemed too nice to ever do something like that. "Umm sure, I guess but I'm grounded right now so that's going to have to wait" I said. She nodded and told me she would call me. My brain couldn't even process the events of today. I reminded myself to not get into a fight again.

School was finally over, as I waited for Adam to pick me up I saw the Cullens by their car. I saw Rosalie and Emmett just starting at me. Rosalie did not look happy while Emmett gave me this weird smirk. I wanted to ask what their problem was but Adam came before I could even move. "So how was school" Adam said curiously. "It was interesting, hopefully tomorrow everything goes back to normal" I said. I really did hope all the gossiping and stares would go away. But only time would tell.
