Chapter.22-Ahhh... Piracy?

I have Finally decided on the formats I want to use for notifications. They have been jumping around this entire time, but from here on out they should be fairly consistent.

I slept like the dead for what felt like hours, but was probably closer to days. I don't think there has ever been a more peaceful sleep for me. I had no nightmares, needles in my arms, fear of dying, and most importantly, something soft to lay on.

The only downside? Waking up. Everytime I woke up, I was so extremely sick. It wasn't sick like "Oh, I got the flu. Shucks..." it was more like "Oh, I am sick. I can't really recognize anything and have been rambling crazily every waking second." It ended up being one heck of a bad show when I woke up.

The last time before now that I woke up was the best. My fever had finally broken and I woke up not in pain. When my red eyes finally opened, I saw a very familiar scene. Looking around the room, I saw a few wardrobes, mirrors, vanities, and couches, you know, the usual stuff. Looking through the window, I saw that it was almost pitch black outsideThe bed I was on was at least king size if not more. Laying in the bed, I realized that I wasn't the only inhabitant of the soft, heaven of a bed. Laying down next to me, sleeping peacefully, was a pale blonde elf. I fell asleep quickly after that.

Wait, before now? Oh? Am I awake? I open up my eyes, blinking against the harsh light as my eyes try to adjust to the sudden invasion. Once my vision finally adjusts, I look around where I am. I am still in the Princess's room, only this time I am all alone. My throat burns from dehydration, but other than that, I feel perfectly fine. Sitting on the bed stand is a glass of water. Do I get up and grab it? No, I shouldn't. Instead, I test out [Smoke Emulation].

I activate my ability and feel a small drain of MP. Usually, I wouldn't notice it, but right after coming out of mana exhaustion, I am acutely aware of my mana. Smoke starts to gather in position next to the Princess's bed. Five second later, a carbon-I guess it would technically be smoke- copy of me is standing next to my bed. This figure looks exactly like me, but is entirely bleached of color, aside from a few spots. The figure is a dark gray color that has the exact same features as me. The few spots it has color are mainly the eyes. The smoke me has eyes that are of a deep red, just a little brighter than blood. Her entire body has a reddish glow to it. As the copy stands there, wisps of smoke leave her body. The wisps that leave dissipate after a few seconds of aimlessly floating around. Whenever the wisps get closer to their life-cycle, they start to turn redder just enough to be noticeable. She looks incredible

The description of the ability said that I could change how it looks. I picture my desired shape, and sure enough the smoke clone changes. Now it looks like a smokey ghoul. The same treatment of the wisps occurs and the eyes stay the same, but the shape has completely changed. I could have some fun with this. Imagine the pranks!

I revert the smokey clone back to its original, beautiful state. How do I control her? The smoke clone- That's a terrible name, I should really come up with a better one... I got it! From now on it will be the Emulate- just sits there blankly staring at me.

I search myself quickly and realize that a tether connects her to me. It is not a physical one, but more like a tether from my consciousness to the clone. Should I try moving her like moving my arm? I attempt and she moves slightly. This will take some getting used to.

I spent the next twenty minutes moving her arms around, making her walk, and making sure I can control the Emulate perfectly. One thing I accidentally found out is that I could 'trace' the tether back to the clone and take over its senses. It does not have all five senses, but it does have hearing and sight. I also found out that the Emulate can play my lute and it counts as me playing it.
