Chapter 7

Only the beeping sound of the life monitor can be heard within the four-cornered hospital room of Yamaguchi Tadashi, as the boy was staring at the constant nothingness of the horizon. His thoughts are running freely inside his mind, living in a false reality he created inside his head. Too succumbed to even notice the soft creaking of his door and the gentle steps strutting towards him.

A gentle tap made the on Yamaguchi's shoulder made the quiet boy jolt out of surprise before turning his head to his trance breaker, it was Doctor Ushijima. The man gave him an apologetic smile before sitting at the stool beside him.

"Daydreaming? Sorry for interrupting you"

Yamaguchi let out a warm giggle that seemed to have stopped the doctor's world. Ushijima stares in awe at the, giggling, boy in front of him.

'God, what an angel'

His heart did a flip as he joined the freckled angel with his cute giggles.

"It's okay, I would've snap out of it if only it wasn't too tempting to live at"

Their giggles have subsided and realisation struck Yamaguchi on why had the doctor came to see him.

"Do you have anything to say, Ushijima-san?" Yamaguchi asked with an innocent voice and big doe eyes.

Ushijima is, once again, captivated at the little angel in front of him. The warm, fuzzy, feeling bubbling inside him made a smile slowly creep in his beautiful face.

"Hmm.. nothing. I just want to check on you, have you eaten yet?" the doctor asked, his voice laced with gentleness.

The simple question made Yamaguchi blush a bit. He lowered his head in shyness and slowly shook his head.

"Not yet. But, it's almost my meal time. The nurse might come in any moment to bring me my food" he stated with a smile.

Comfortable silence enveloped the room as the two checked the time. Just a few minutes later, a red-head male nurse came in with a cart of plates filled with hospital food. The nurse blushed and smiled at dr. Ushijima before assisting Yamaguchi with his food.

"Good morning, Dr. Wakatoshi. Good morning, Tadashi-san"

"Good morning, Satori-kun"

Tendou smiled at them and they smiled back. He carefully put down the plates of food from the cart to Yamaguchi's makeshift table in bed.

"For today's menu, we have.. corn soup and pork gyoza! Wonderful!" he squealed, hands are clasped and a peppy voice.

Yamaguchi's eyes shined with the food before him. He doesn't like the hospital food that much, it all taste bland or awful for him, this is the first time, in weeks, they had served a normal everyday food.

"We made it more special for you, since you'll be discharged tomorrow and you're having such a fast recovery!" Tendou said, making gestures with hands and fingers.

'Having a fast recovery, huh?'

Yamaguchi, nonetheless, gave Tendou a bright smile before bowing and giving thanks for the food, he then didn't waste time to ravish the meal in front of him.

The nurse and the doctor couldn't help themselves and smiled at the sight in front of them, Yamaguchi brightly eating his meal while looking so cute is such a blessing to their eyes. They turned to look at each other with a smile, only to look away with a blush covering their faces.

Tendou took the cart and started strutting towards the door but, before leaving, he looked back and gave Yamaguchi a pat in the head, making the freckled lad to stop eating and turn his head to him.

"Have a good meal, I'll be going now" he bid and smiled at him.

"Hai! Thank you for the meal, Satori-kun!" he said before continuing to gobble his food.

Satori turned his back at him and continued on walking towards the door but was stopped by a heart-warming question from the doctor.

"Have you eaten yet, Tendou-san? Would you like to spend lunch with me?"

Tendou bit his lip and tried calming himself down before turning at the red-flushed doctor. He offered a smile and nodded shyly.

"Let's meet at Shiratorizawa cafe then, 11 am sharp. I'll be waiting, Dr. Wakatoshi" he said before quickly leaving the room, with a blushing mess of a face.

Ushijima couldn't help the smile and blush creeping at hid face. He slowly peeled his eyes from the door where Tendou had just left to look at Yamaguchi, who is already finished in eating his meal and grinning like an idiot (cute idiot).

"M-hmm, what was that? Hmm.."

Ushijima rolled his eyes in a playful manner and shook his head.

"Nothing"

"What do you mean nothing?! That was clearly something, Ushijima-san!" the freckled boy exclaimed with a quirky voice.

Ushijima let out a hearty laugh that made Yamaguchi laugh as well.

"Well.. I just.. asked him..-"

"Out for lunch?" Yamaguchi finished his sentence with a wiggling brow and small giggles.

Ushijima just chuckled and nodded his head. Yamaguchi squealed in delight at the romance of the two flirts he just witnessed, only to be cut short by the slamming of the door and revealing a certain blonde boy.

"What's happening?! Why is Yamaguchi screaming?!"

Tsukishima worriedly ran at the freckled baby (a/n: his freckled baby lol) and took him at a hug. He couldn't stop the fast beating of his heart at the worry that something might've happened to his freckled boy.

Ushijima and Yamaguchi froze in shock by Tsukishima's sudden intrusion. Yamaguchi immediately felt his heart do some summersaults and his face flushing red. Ushijima seemed to have noticed Yamaguchi's reaction and smirked.

'I see..'

I'mma cut this short here first hehe. I cannot! With the drama at the last chapter so I tried my best squeezing my brain for some fluff, it might not be the best or a good fluffy chapter but I think it's enough to compensate my delayed updates and uhh it's also a compensation for Yamaguchi.. co'z of his *ehem* ending 🤭🤭 toodles hehe
