I called Joon Suh the following and informed him to cancel my flight because I wanted to go to Jeju a day ahead. He was kind enough to offer to pay for the my earlier flight, but I declined, because I decided to bring my car. I figured that it is much better than renting one there, so I can take my time to find the best spots for the shoot on the weekend. I also wanted Yejin and our staff, one for her and mine, to have a comfortable ride so we can work better.
I am scheduled to leave the next day so I prepared my things I would need for the long ride. I have to leave Seoul early so I can catch the earliest ferry and find the place where we would stay. I took the initiative to book a hotel for the both of us and our team. I informed her of everything that I am planning to do so she won't have to do anything else. I only needed her to be there and do her job.
As I was packing my equipment, my phone rang. It was her. And it's 10pm.
'Hello?' I answered.
'Bin? Can I talk to you?' she said. Admittedly, I was scared but if ever this will be it, then I am prepared to talk to her about everything.
'Sure, Yej. No problem. What is it?'
'Are you fetching us at the airport? Or do we need to request for a rental car?'
I smiled, I thought that was it. 'Yes, I will fetch you and bring you straight to the hotel so you can rest. I think I have informed you already, or not yet? Anyway, the shoot will start the following day, so we can have time to relax a bit.'
'Oh, okay then. So I'll see you in two days?' she said. What she said warmed my heart, but I am still a bit guilty for everything. How can she have a heart this pure?
'Yes. I'll see you there,' I replied. 'Yej, please be careful, okay?' I reminded her.
'Silly, why would I not? Can I even survive until this age if I was not?' Uh-oh, here we are again. That familiar pain shot up again. Mea culpa, Yejin.
'I still have to talk to you,' I replied.
A few moments of silence lingered before she said goodbye. A little bit more, Yej.
I left Seoul early before I get caught up in rush hour traffic. Traveling to Mokpo, where I can catch the ferry, takes roughly three to four hours by land, and traveling to Jeju around 4 to 5 hours by ferry. Quite a ride, but a long ride is all I need to clear my mind from everything that happened in a span of four days.
As soon as I was in the ferry, I received a few messages from her and hyung. And one from my dad. I called him up, it's been quite a long time since I talked to him.
'Hi dad,' I said as soon as he picked up the phone.
'Hi, son. Your brother told me you're going to Jeju,' he asked. Hyung always tells him about my whereabouts. If anything, these two have always been there for me all throughout.
'Yes dad. I'm actually at the ferry now going there,' I replied.
'And Yejin?' he asked. Okay, here we are.
'She's flying in tomorrow with her staff and Chul Soo,' I replied. Chul Soo is my trusty assistant, and my business partner too.
'Have you talked to her?'
'If it's about what happened, not yet dad. I have to thank hyung for everything actually. He was the one who arranged all of this. Can't believe that guy,' I said, while laughing.
'That's good to know. Tae Pyung, when you come back, come and see me. Someone wants to meet and talk to you,' he said.
I was puzzled as to who this person is. 'Who dad?'
