As we walked home the day before the school fair, I asked Yejin how she felt that the contest would be tomorrow. She admitted she was very nervous, it was nothing like it. Days prior, she complained to me about why should she be practicing her heart out.

'Yej, you should because the whole level is proud of you. Of course, we want you to win,' I said. She looked at me mischievously and then decided to drop the bomb.

'Won't you get jealous over those boys who would come up to me after the show?' she asked, her eyes narrowing.

I looked at her with widened eyes. 'Of course not,' I said, half-heartedly though. I felt green at the thought that they would all flock to her the moment she's done with the show. I knew that she would win. I knew she's the one.

'Are you sure?' she decided to tease me some more. I sighed, and I resigned.

'No. Of course, I'll get jealous. They will all flock to you and you won't see me anymore because there are so many of them coming at you,' I replied, while looking down. She saw the pout that I made and was laughing at me.

'I knew it!' and she laughed so hard. She then took my face into her hands and squeezed my cheeks. 'Binssi, you are jealous!'. As I looked at her, I can't help but smile. It's amazing how she can make me feel at ease with her antics.

She smiled at me, and her hand fell back into mine. 'You don't have to be jealous, Binssi. Remember, I said yes to you, right?' she said.

How lucky can my young heart be?

School fair has started and as a varsity athlete, we weren't allowed to join in any of the games. Instead, we were asked to oversee the games. I was tasked to be one of the referees for soccer. The games started in the morning, and Yejin's contest would start mid-day. Good thing, my stint would be in the afternoon so I can see her in action.

As I was on my way to the hall, Eun Suh blocked my way. I smiled at her and tried to avoid her, but then she followed me still. When I couldn't get through, I went up to her.

'Would you please allow me to pass through? I have to catch up the contest,' I said.

She smirked at me, and it didn't look good. She was wearing heavy make-up, and what she wore was so provoking that I felt ashamed for her. I shot her with dagger eyes, but she didn't budge.

'Why are you going down the hall? You wanted to see Yejin? Why when, I'm here?' she said, while making her way towards me. I dodged and she almost tripped. I was taught to be a gentleman, but obviously this girl had been nothing but a headache to me and Yejin.

I shook my head as I looked back at her and made my way to the hall. I didn't care what happened to her after that, I wanted to see my girlfriend doing and giving her best. When I arrived the hall, her friends saw me and immediately waved at me to sit with them. I also saw my friend Insung sitting near Hyojin. I went to them and took my seat.

'Dude what took you so long?' Insung inquired.

'Just had something to settle. Did the show start already?' I asked him back. He shook his head, and just then the host for the show came up and started it.

There were four contestants, one for each level. As the contestants sashayed over the stage, claps and whistles were heard. But when Yejin came into view, the whole crowd went roaring and cheered for her. I remained seated and smiled to myself. I thought I didn't need to join the roaring crowd, as I was already so proud of her. I owned her heart and that is the best cheer I could give her. As she passed by where we were, I looked up at her and gave her a smile. I didn't know if she saw me, but she gave out the best smile that I could see as she walked around. I felt my heart burst with pride.
