The Aftermath (COMPLETED)

confrontation?

Mun Yeong was confused why Gang Tae wanted to leave all of a sudded. When Gang Tae walked out, she breathe heavily then stood up. She went to the library. The twins have their own study tables there.

When she came in, Mun Yeong arranged her things first then proceeded to GaYoung's table. "Aish!" she said as she saw the mess. She fixed the books, papers and colors then placed it inside her bag.

She wondered why TaeYoung's table was clean. It looks like he didn't opened it when he got home. So, Mun Yeong decided to check his bag.

She unzipped the zipper and it was arranged properly. She checked the side pockets then she noticed a familiar item. When she got it, she immediately knew what was that. THE BUTTERFLY BROOCH. she was confused for a moment. Too many questions in her mind.

"Why is it in TaeYoung's bag?"
"Why?"
"Did she went to scare them?"
"Did...Did.. her mother escaped?"

Then she realized why Gang Tae wanted to them to leave. She bit her lips then went out of the library to confront Gang Tae.

When she was walking upstairs she was praying that the butterfly brooch was just the same as her mother's But, she heard Gang Tae talking to someone.

"Are you sure she's there?"

"Please make sure to catch her. Just update me. Thank you very much."

When she heard those words from him, she was mad and disappointed at the same time. She was mad because her mother still wanted to hurt her and she didn't want her to be happy. 5 years had passed and yet here they are again. It is starting- again. She was also disappointed at him. She understood why he didn't say it to her but she was just felt empty thinking that Gang Tae might suffered alone. He's good in surpressing his emotions. Mun Yeong knew that somehow Gang Tae was also scared and devastated as her. She imagined how scared he was to protect her, their children and Sang Tae.

She crossed her arms and waited for him to notice her. When he turned his back, he saw Mun Yeong.

"M--Mun--Mun Yeong ah." Gang Tae stuttered those words.

"Is that the reason why you wanted us to leave?" she asked

Gang Tae didn't know what to say. "I'm asking you, Gang Tae." she added. She was hoping that it's not but he nodded. She sighed. She felt defeated.

"When did you know?"

"She escaped yesterday. But the police made sure to catch her tonight." he answered.

"So you mean, TaeYoung and GaYoung actually met her?!" she raised her voice. She didn't want the twins to heard their argument so she counted to three.

"If I didn't saw this (pertaining to the brooch) and heard your conversation, will you tell me about it?"

"I don't want you to get hurt. I just wanted to protect you, Mun Yeong ah." he walked towards her and hugged her.

Mun Yeong didn't hug him back. She whispered "I told you, you don't need to protect me. I know you're scared."

Gang Tae broke his hug, "Let me protect you, please. Let me protect our family."

"Why is it just always you? You should've told me that she escaped. You don't need to suffer alone.." she answered softly.

"Mun Yeong ah, I noticed it. It's been 5 years but I noticed that some nights, you are still getting nightmares. Everytime I wake up in the middle of the night without you beside me. I know it's happening. I know you don't want me to know. But I noticed it. I don't want to add another trauma in you."

Mun Yeong's tears fell in her cheeks. He didn't lie tho. It was the truth.

"But we should suffer together." she stated

"I know. I'm sorry for not letting you know." Gang Tae pulled her again to hug. Then suddenly they heard..

"Omma! Omma! No! Don't go!!!" TaeYoung was whimpering in his sleep.

Mun Yeong and Gang Tae was surprised. They opened the door and saw their son crying in his sleep. It looks like he was having a nightmare.

Mun Yeong immediately shakes him. "Tae Young! Wake up! Yah." She was nervous. TaeYoung opened his eyes then he was relieved to his mother. "Omma!" he cried as he hugged her.

Mun Yeong looked at Gang Tae who was carrying GaYoung who woke up because of the noise.

The four of them went to the master's bedroom. GaYoung was now fast asleep. While TaeYoung was still crying in his mother's arm.

"Tae Young ah, it's okay. It's just a dream. You're okay." Gang Tae assures him.

Mun Yeong didn't talk. She was just caressing his back. After an hour, he was fast asleep in her arms. Mun Yeong's head was resting in the headboard of their bed. Gang Tae sit beside her.

"Are you okay?"

"I know that feeling. I can't believe a child needs to experience that. I promised myself that they will not suffer like me." She stated.

"Let's talk to him tomorrow. Don't worry. The police called they said they catched her. They also decided to move her. Anywhere but not here."

"I think I should visit her. I want to talk to her." Mun Yeong said seriously.

Gang Tae just nodded. "I'll go with you."

I hope y'all enjoyed this. I just wanted to say thank you for all the comments and votes. But sad to say, I think I will end this story soon. 15 chapters are enough. I mean, this is just supposed to be a oneshot but then I enjoyed writing.
