Double Trouble

On Saturday
No matter what I did, the twins wouldn't leave me alone! I'd gone the bathroom, they were still there, I'd gone to the library, they were still there then I went to get food at a commoner's market...the boys followed me all the way!

"She worries me sometimes" I could sense Hikaru never expected that from his twin as they were attempting to hide behind the street corner "Yea, we literally went to elementary school together and she was never like this no matter what!" I turned around to finally face them watching them argue about how 'weird' I was acting

"If you guys find me so 'weird', why do you still hang out with me?" I sipped on my bubble tea with my hand in my pocket as their faces showed an expression of horror "How long have you known we we're following you?" I thought about it for a second "since a couple streets away from my estate" my mind ran over my words realising I'd pretty much just told the two troublemakers where I lived

As they walked beside me, I could feel Hikaru staring at the fingerprint-shaped bruises on my neck, they weren't fading as fast as I'd liked "Got a staring problem, Hikaru? That's odd, you didn't used to have" I laughed slightly as he playfully shoved me towards Kaoru who caught me just in time "I'm kidding, I'm kidding! Stare all you want, i honestly couldn't care less"

I felt like I could tell them anything and it would still be okay "so why'd you really leave the host club?" I let out a deep sigh "someone threatened that if I didn't leave the host club, that you'd all get badly hurt. Also Renge totally stole my job so even if I did join back, I've got no position to be in"

The twins gave each other some kind of look that I couldn't decipher since it was behind my back "Didn't you tell the doc that you gave yourself those marks?" I rested my hands behind my head closing my eyes "Ignoring the fact that you boys listened in to a private conversation, I lied"

I didn't get why the both seemed so shocked that I lied, it wasn't the first time but I guess now was as good as any other time to come out? "This might come as suprise but...I identify as non binary. I'm not male nor female, I'm just human - 'someone' doesn't like that"

I felt like they were taking notes but all they did was walk and listen like bodyguards defending some kind of celebrity, wait! Were they stalling for time?! The bastards! Oh well, it was still nice to spend time with them in casual clothes instead of that over-feminine school uniform that made me look from 'Belle' from 'Beauty and the Beast'

"Y'know we'll accept you no matter what, right?" I don't know why what Kaoru said hit so deeply, the words themselves weren't even that powerful, it was more the sentiment behind them. A scarlet flush spread through my cheeks causing me to pull my hood up in embarrassment to which they both edged increasingly closer

"Did we say something?" My hands clutched my hood to hide my face "N-no, I just didn't expect you to say something like that" that was the point where Hikaru quickened his pace and peaked under my hood before pushing it down with one hand to show his twin "Look Kaoru, 'someone's' blushing...was it because of what we said?" Kaoru leaned in getting inches away from my face "N-no way!" I laughed nervously looking away, he was so close! They both were!

Why'd I expect anything different? They're both hosts and do this kind of stuff on a daily basis, it was their thing! And my thing was twisting real life scenarios into a secretly depressing poem..."Then it's okay if we do this?" They both used a finger to prod my cheeks

"Why are you stalling for time?" I knew I was right when they paused and then tried to cover it up by giving me a smile that no other girl could ever resist, it was pretty but I knew them better

"When you left, we came up with a game called 'what happened to Kaida at the physical exam'" I nodded slowly trying not to be annoyed at their games behind my back "it's nothing interesting, I just overreacted to some minor news I was expecting"

I walked ahead of them slightly with my hands shoved in my pockets "You aren't pregnant...are you?" My jaw dropped "what kind of person do you think I am?!" They raised their hands in defence as I screamed at them "Hey, you never know!" Was Hikaru serious?! I couldn't believe him right now! Either of them!

I went to the same elementary and high school as them! Just because I went somewhere else for middle school didn't mean I'd flipped my personality completely and was suddenly this sleazy thing begging to be a teen mom?!

"You two are unbelievable!" Each twin grabbed an arm as I began to storm off "We're sorry, we took it too far" Kaoru was the one to apologise for Hikaru's mistakes as usual but it was something I'd come to expect, Hikaru was just too stubborn to apologise for his own mistakes but it made him Hikaru, and why would I change who he was? That just wouldn't make him Hikaru anymore!

"Here's an idea - why don't we just hang out like we used to, and maybe you two'll figure it out?" They folded their arms annoyed "can't you just tell us? You already know what we're trying to do" I shrugged "cause what's the fun in being told right off the bat? Also when's the game's deadline?" The twins raised an eyebrow in sync "This Friday, we wanted a head start"

We did exactly as I planned - got drinks and laughed the whole day making sure they didn't get any hints. On the bright side, we had a good time outside of the host club meaning I could still see friends out of that room without being attacked...
