The next morning
"Boys, and Haruhi...I have some news. I am being forced to leave the host club permanently" Tamaki shot right up out of his seat "By who?!" I didn't really think he'd take it all that hard but his actions were proving me more wrong by the minute
"By an anonymous soul" the twins shared a look at each other as if they were ready to fight someone
"No! You have to stay Kaida-Chan!" Honey-senpai threw himself at my legs forcing my legs to collapse and fall onto the couch behind me"I have already notifed Kyoya senpai of my situation, there's nothing else to be said" the Raven-haired host glanced at his book before letting his eyes fall onto the rest of the host club to see how the rest of this played out
"Situation?! Are you in danger?!" Tamaki was really surprising me today, even if he was in his right mind. He was the one who originally brought me here after all, like all of us. I doubted that this would the last I heard from them but it would be better if it was considering my mother had threatened people to watch me in school
"Kaida and I have decided to keep her situation private, Tamaki but yes, it's not ideal even if we did see this coming" Kyoya walked me to the door nodding once communicating that this was the right move for the right game and that all would be revealed in time
"Are you still going to hang out with us?!" I stopped in the hall glancing back at the twins who had burst out the double doors "Sure!" That seemed to bring them some sort of peace but who knows how long it would last?
A few weeks later
For a whole 21 days had I been avoiding the host club, even in the halls. Not once had I visited because it was a risk I just couldn't afford to take, I'd rather break promises than have to deal with broken bones or worse. My mother was fully capable of hospitalising a few teenagers even if they were rich bastards"Hey why'd you stop turning up to the host club?!" I pretended I didn't hear the pain in Hikaru's voice "To be honest, Renge took my place so there's no real need for me to be there. And I left, remember?" Kaoru folded his arms in sync with his twin "You're just not even gonna visit anymore? You said you would!"
I bit my tongue "I was planning to, then my situation 'changed' and it would've been a danger to the group if I had" Hikaru had an expression like he'd just worked something out "That was you! The blood everywhere, the piano and the turned tables!"
I faced them fully revealing the faint lines on my forehead "your mother took you in there and locked the door, did she do this?!" My jaw dropped slightly at the way his brain worked "it's not that simple" out of nowhere he lurched forward slightly causing my arms to fly up to protect myself "So it's someone you trust, isn't it?"
All I did was turn on my heels and walk down the hall, deep down they knew they were right. It scared me more than anything to know what would happen to them if they did figure it all out "We're going to figure it! And We're going to save you doing so!" I glanced in their direction slightly trying not to making eye contact "I look forward to it"
Most of the time, I hung out in the library studying alone in solitude even if some members of the host club had decided to stalk me around the school watching each place I went and whether I wandered out with more bruises than I started with just to try and find out who was causing them...at least they weren't following me home yet
Their patterns of behaviour were day in and day out constant however it didn't get on my nerves, in a way - it actually gave me a sense of security even if it wouldn't always last. Tamaki and the 3rd years would probably forget about us when they graduated and move on from our little romance club but they meant everything to me!
And that's why I had to protect them
