🎃🖤🎃

I spun watching the mesmerizing dress twirl with my movements. The dress apparently fit like a glove. But I had no idea how HEAVY it was. Turns out the spaghetti straps did not hold up the dress. The tight bodice currently squeezing my waist. Ty Lee and Mai left no detail out. Honestly I have no idea how they did it. To be truthful, I had my eyes closed half the time, praying that I wouldn't look stupid, Turns out I really didn't look stupid.

Since it was Halloween, and apparently the easiest thing to dress as was a vampire, I had two fake fangs glued to my teeth. In addition to them making my eyelids all weird and smoky, painting my lips blood red, and a number of other things I have no clue how they happened, they made my face a weird grey. Kind of like a corpse in my opinion. Not only did painting my face that grey color add to my costume, it covered my arrow. They even painted my nails, black with just a hint of sparkles. I actually really like that, but you didn't hear it from me.

The wig they finally went with, was black and went down to my waist. They spent a lot of time weaving it into a thick braid. It's actually very impressive. The shoes were officially the worst thing any girl could put themselves through. Ty Lee had to spend twenty minutes teaching me how to walk. Much to Mai's amusement. The heels themselves were three inches tall, were dark red and had decorative bats painted on them.

If I didn't know my face the way I do, then I wouldn't have been able to recognize me. I have to admit, even if it was painful at times, but they did an excellent job.

I was halfway in the middle of a test spin when the door creaked open. I quickly turned to see who was there. Thankfully it was just Zuko. He was staring at me all weird. I grinned sheepishly at him.

"So, what do you think?" I asked hesitantly. Zuko blinked, and shook his head like shaking off something.

"You look, um, you look, uhh..." Zuko trailed off, his gravelly voice weirdly wobbly. An odd pink tint covered his cheeks. I wonder if that was part of his makeup. The Fire Prince was in his own get-up. A cloak not unlike the one from earlier, was on his back. It had a high collar, and if you asked me looked a bit silly. He was also painted ashen grey, but instead of painting over his scar, they... highlighted it. Yeah it was much brighter than usual. Is that fake blood pouring out of it? Yeah that's fake blood. He wore black trousers, with high heeled boots. I doubt he needed lessons on how to walk in those.

All in all, he looked... handsome? dashing? rugged? All three? He looked good. Yeah good. Not kissable in any way.

"You look good." He finally settled on, shaking his head again. I grinned at him.

"You do too," I said smiling. He smiled nervously back, but that was still a smile. He held out his elbow, I took the invitation, and we started down the hallway. Zuko kicked the door closed behind us. He escorted me through elegant hallways. Beautiful portraits of past fire lords were everywhere. The walls were red obviously, but over time they changed shade. Almost gradually, as we walked the walls grew brighter. Like these hallways were making you feel like it was leading up to something.

When I glanced at Zuko, his grey makeup took me by surprise for a second. He didn't seem to notice the walls. In fact I'm pretty sure he was just walking by instinct, not actually seeing the walls themselves. I squeezed his arm for attention. He jerked out of his stupor and looked down at me confused. I frowned up at him.

"Stop that," I said accusingly. His eyebrow and space where his eyebrow should be only furrowed further.

"Stop what?" Zuko asked, his longish hair was down, not in the bun it was in earlier. The bangs were so long they could be tucked behind his ear. Right now I was pretty sure they were gelled to the side.
