Chapter 16

Who is the girl who's now regretting about what she just did earlier and is now laying on the bed being upset at herself? It's Kim Minju.

Ugh... stupid Minju! You already promised to not be like that again!

She squirmed on top of the bed ending up lying on her side.

I'm sure he hates me now... For real this time....

When is this girl ever gonna come out....

I thought to myself looking back at times to my room door hoping she would come out. It's been a while since i've started cooking and there were no signs of her actually coming out from it.

Should i apologize first?

I looked back once more this time a few seconds longer than before, contemplating on whether i should come up there and be a man or not.

But it's not really my fault now is it? I mean, i did say it in a weird way.... i wonder how she could've even interpreted it like that in the first place.

I turned back to my cooking being cautious as to not let it overcook and become a mess.

I'll let her be. Who knows? She might be the one apologizing to me first. But that wouldn't make me feel good either... i'll just wait for her come out on her own for now.

I went back to focusing on my cooking as it was almost done. I took a couple of plates and served the fried rice i had made and distributed it evenly. I could see the steam coming out of it as the smell of it made my stomach grumble.

After placing it on top of my dinner table, i screamed out.

"Food's ready!" I yelled, hoping that she would come out as i sat down on the table, now playing on my phone.

Please come out....

I don't deserve to come out. I should just starve here, i don't deserve to eat. Minju thought to herself on top of the bed, despite being starved almost to death.

*knock* *knock*

"Minmin? Come out, food's done already. " Y/N said lowly as he opened the door. She then quickly shut her eyes pretending to have fallen asleep so she wouldn't talk with him.

"You're sleeping? I can't believe this." Y/N said as he walked and sat on the bedside watching her face. Her face looked peaceful which triggered something within him making him automatically felt like he need to apologize.

"Ne. I don't know if you're hearing this, but i'll just say it. I don't know what i did, but i'm sorry okay? I wish that you would tell me everything i did wrong so i wouldn't do it again. Forgive me, Minmin."

No... Y/N. It's not your fault. It's mine. Come on... just say the words, Minju!

"Why am i talking with a sleeping person..." He said as he got up from the bed and walked towards the door. Minju then turned her body around looking at him walking away.

I shouldn't be like this. He shouldn't be the one apologizing. He's trying his hardest to help me, but why am i acting like this...

Y/N walked out and sat back at the table not wanting to disturb Minju from her sleep. He was about to take a first spoon in when he heard a door creak making him stop and stare.

"Ya. Food's ready." Y/N said to Minju as she walked straight to him without saying a word.

"Thank you for the food." Minju said making Y/N's eyes widened as he had never heard her say that sentence before.

What's gotten into her?

I should start and be grateful to him, i should know my position.

"Is it good?" Y/N asked, trying to rid of the awkwardness they were having.

"It is." Minju answered shortly not glancing at him. Y/N sighed at her reaction as he felt helpless and got back to eating his dinner.

Could she have felt lonely that i rarely talk to her while we're outside?

He glanced at her before looking down.

She couldn't possibly give me a straight answer if i asked. But could that be the case?

Y/N glanced back at her, this time longer.

....i guess she is. I can't expect her to be able to withstand it for a long time too. Ah... what should i do.... i should apologize first as starters.

"Ne I'm sorry about earlier, Minmin."

"Ng?" She replied.

"I shouldn't have said it like that. I was just annoyed that you kept pinching me out of nowhere today."

"....i'm sorry too." She said. "I shouldn't have pinched you as much as i did. Did it hurt?"

"It did sting a bit, but i guess it was just your way of getting my attention. I know i'm not in the same situation as you, but you must've felt lonely and ignored even though you're with me most of the time. I'm sorry for that."

".....i guess i should tell you the truth. I do feel ignored most of the time." Minju said twirling her spoon on her food. She then stopped and placed it back down as she was about to tell him her thoughts.

"Really?" Y/N asked as he did the same.

"But i can't blame you either. I mean, i would find it hard to try and talk to me without being seen as if talking to the air. I should understand your side but... i can't help it." Y/N felt guilty about it as he then tried hard to think of a way that she could talk to him without even letting a single word out of his mouth. He glanced at his phone and thought of an idea.

"Can you send me a message from your phone?"

"I don't think i could. There's no signal. I constantly checked  my phone at times to see if i could at least get just a tiny bit if a signal. None."

"Hm.... let's see.... what other ways do we have..." Minju looking at Y/N who's trying hard to find him a way to communicate to her so she wouldn't feel as lonely made her feel guilty.

"...it's okay, Y/N. You don't have to think so hard about it."

"No, it's fine. I me-"

"No, really! It's fine. I should be grateful enough that you can see and even hear me. You really don't have to do that. We can just talk at night like we planned before." Minju said as she got back to her eating.

....i'll try and look for a way to communicate with you outside Minmin. Just wait.

"Oh, Eunbi-noona." Y/N looked to his left noticing that Eunbi had just gotten out from her apartment. She waved at him awkwardly making Y/N confused.

"Uh.... something wrong?" Y/N asked.

"It's... nothing. Just not used to greeting people in the morning, that's all. Or actually... greeting people... in general..." Her voice getting lower each sentence almost making Y/N unable to hear a word from her.

"We'll fix that, noona. For starters, we could walk to campus together." Eunbi accepted the offer as the 'three' of them are now walking side by side.

"Anyway noona, about the recruiting members later, should we all gath-"

"There's no need for that anymore, Y/N." Eunbi quickly cut-in between before Y/N could finish his sentence.
