AA/N:I have a tendency to change up my OC's
The sun rose higher into the sky, the light began conquering the shadowing as birds squawked at the burning ball of fire way beyond the horizon. The sunlight's radiating straight rays shone on everything in a not-so-slow motion, but satisfying from an angle.
Light touched Moondrift's face, making her scales sparkle in the daylight. She squeezed her eyes, then opened them slowly as she blinked sleepily at the sun. Her eyes dazzled with icy blue as she tiredly turned her head at Snowstorm, who was still fast asleep. His scales shone like hers, yet brighter.
Moondrift smiled when she went through his mind. Today, it was filled with so much positivity and happiness that she could actually forget about her sorrow and pain. Snowstorm told her the night before that all he had were terrible nightmares of him becoming a demon and middling all in his kingdom.
But in this dream, he was joyful. The three full moons were high above the clouds and beamed at him as he exhaled happily. He was sitting in the grass in a flowery meadow that Moondrift had seen somewhere before.
She went out of his mind, then blinked when she looked down, feeling very embarrassed. She didn't realise how much closer she moved to Snowstorm while she slept; now, their scales were pressed against each other and the IceWing's wing seemed to have wrapped tighter around her.
She blushed to herself as she curled in firmly, closing her eyes, though she decided not to go back to sleep, but to ponder instead, well, just until Snowstorm woke up.
What am I going to do now with my life? Am I really going to travel across the whole continent again and get to know Pyrrhia? I've already been around almost ten times.
But she never got to know it well, given that she was only assigned to assassinate certain dragons in that kingdom, she had to flee quickly and silently without anyone noticing her before they realise that there was a murder committed, and they would all know it was her.
So maybe I should travel the whole continent again; not for missions, but for fun and freedom. Now that I'm never going back to the island, I should make the most of my life left, she looked at Snowstorm and saw his eyes flicker weirdly, while I still have one, she added, tucking her wings in even more.
She sighed, knowing what she was about to do and hoping to feel proud of it. She wanted to explore more of Pyrrhia's secrets and what lurks beneath the ground. She wanted to know more about the strange animal and scavenger behaviours, who she was not going to eat. She never ate those kinds of things, she only consumed small amounts of food, ha, very SandWing like of me.
She smirked at a thought that came to her.
I bet Deathbringer hasn't even been getting to know the continent, always getting caught up, acting serious but is actually stupid and smug. HA.
She'd hope she would never have to see him again. Moondrift would dread if she ever did. She hated him, he disliked her. It shouldn't be that hard to avoid him, it worked back at the island.
Snowstorm suddenly mumbled something, and a flash of blood and rage immediately exploded in his mind. Moondrift's eyes widened, she clutched her head, trying to block his mind from her.
She swiftly rolled out from under his wing and stood up. She looked down at him and saw that his face was completely calm and peaceful. Yet his head was full of so much darkness and evilness.
But she caught his eyes flicker even more, very vigorously this time. He bared his teeth fiercely with his eyes still closed as he instantaneously growled and curled his claws in.
Snowstorm looked troubled, but troubling at the same time. The hybrid didn't know if she should wake him up...then she slapped herself.
You idiot, of course you should make him up! She scolded in her mind. She walked up to Snowstorm and shamed him by the shoulders.
"SNOWSTORM," She bellowed, but he still wouldn't budge, so she slapped his face and shaked him again. "SNOWSTORM!"
The IceWing jolted awake. "Ow! What?!"
Moondrift wrinkled her snout at him. "You were having a nightmare...sort of. Well, it didn't really look like a nightmare. Your mind was flooded with blood and you were twitching and growling and flickering in your sleep!"
He rubbed his eyes tiredly and then clutched his head.
"Did it hurt your mind?" He asked.
"Not much," she replied coldly. "But still. If there's anything else you need to tell me, just tell me. You can trust me with whatever you have kept."
Snowstorm paused and shrugged.
"I...don't know. How should I know if I can FULLY trust you with everything."
Moondrift stayed silent, there was only one thing she could do to make him trust her, but she wanted to see if Snowstorm could figure what it was first.
"I know," he said with realisation. "You told me no more hiding. That's right, NO more hiding. I'll tell you what else I've kept from you...and you tell me yours."
Moondrift blinked at him. "What?"
"That's right," Snowstorm said in his most royal voice Moondrift's ever heard. She tried not to laugh when he stood taller and his back straighter. It looked like his spikes on his back suddenly appeared to be as sharp as the apex of an icicle. "And you're going first whether you like it or not."
She frowned and rolled her eyes. She let out a sigh as she hung her head down for a moment.
Moondrift really did want to know what's been happening to Snowstorm that she didn't know; she realised how concerned she was for him.
So, without hesitation, she spread her wings.
Sorry, I forgot to update yesterday 😅 So I'm going to post three chapters.
