"So," Snowstorm pursed his lips nervously. "I saw you, er...fight that SkyWing."
Bless her assassin soul, he added in his mind.
Moondrift frowned at him, slapping his warm talons.
"Ow!" He yelped, jumping back. "That stings!"
"So does my soul," she said.
His eyes widened as he remembered that she could read minds.
"I've really got to get used to this," he muttered.
Moondrift forgot that Hailstorm was still there, she only just remembered when he laughed in the corner.
"You two are a cute couple," he said. "Make the most of it, while you're still alive."
Moondrift and Snowstorm both blinked at him, but she caught at the corner of her eye, Snowstorm with the slightest of grins. She face taloned and turned away.
"Don't be ridiculous," she said to Hailstorm. "We're not a couple. Not even CLOSE. He hates me because I killed his siblings, and I..."
She paused. "...don't like him either."
There were long few moments of silence, which broke, thankfully, when the door burst open and more SkyWings barged in, with the same big soldier pointing his spear at Snowstorm.
"Your turn," he bellowed. "Dismiss Queen Scarlet's order and I'll kill her."
He threatened his weapon at Moondrift.
"Now I see you blushing," the SkyWing laughed. "Both of you,"
"I'M NOT!" Snowstorm protested at the same time as Moondrift said, "YOU WISH!"
The guard shrugged. "Either way, I'll kill this pretty one if you don't follow the orders. So you better go now, IceWing."
Snowstorm scowled. "I believe Moondrift: you're bluffing,"
The SkyWing raised an eye ridge, then suddenly dived for Moondrift with his spear aimed for her heart.
She ducked, almost getting scratched in the tail from the point of the weapon. She hissed as the spear came flying at her.
She caught it, but Snowstorm jumped in front.
"Alright, alright!" He yelped. "You're not bluffing; I'll go!"
Moondrift dropped the spear as Snowstorm walked out of the cave with his head hung low.
She sat back down patiently, swaying her tail from side to side as she saw Snowstorm disappear.
"Pray to the moons that your boyfriend makes it out alive," Hailstorm said sincerely, ignoring the fact that Moondrift shot him a glare.
"He's not my boyfriend!"
She saw the same SkyWing announcer as before flying in the middle of the arena. He looked calm and seems to know what he's doing, but Moondrift read from his mind that he was absolutely terrified of speaking to such a large crowd.
He cleared his throat.
"After five wins, this dragon has mercilessly crushed the skull of each of her victims, devouring their blood and feasting on their flesh."
Ha, Moondrift thought, and they say I'm terrifying.
"I give to you, Bermuda of the SeaWings!" He continued, as a dark blue SeaWing stepped into the arena.
Her terrifyingly sharp teeth were covered in blood, her midnight blue scales reminded Moondrift of the time she battled a SeaWing underwater and had nearly drowned because of how deep she was being pushed below.
