It's been a week since I told my mum and sister about Natalia, and since then, Natalia and I have become closer than ever. Natalia has also gotten a lot closer to Joseph. It's almost funny how Joseph and I were friends before Natalia and I, yet he doesn't know about my abilities. Natalia has been coming over to the house much more often. There was a time she spent the night; which she could only do because the next day was Saturday. And to top it all off; this is the last week before Christmas break. And that means no classwork, no homework, no pop quizzes, no rules apply; we are allowed to bring out phones, laptops, game consoles, anything we want. Basically, it is the week to go wild. On Friday is the disco and class party; the best day ever. Today is Tuesday and Andrew has apparently travelled for the Christmas already.
I walk out of home room, having finally finished the long talk with my teacher and meet Joseph, who is yapping away with Natalia about what I'm guessing is Friday. Natalia sees me coming and waves. Joseph looks in my direction, and smiles slightly, looking from Natalia to me. I don't really bother about it much as his head is always full of the silliest thoughts. "So Natalia, are you going to the disco on Friday?" he asks, grinning slyly at me.
"Nah. Not really up for it. I'm not sure I see the point. We're pretty much paying for what we can do for free in our classes. I think I'll pass."
Joseph's face falls as if all of his hopes and dreams had just been crushed in that one moment. I hold back the urge to burst out laughing. He looks at me, fearful prayer in his eyes, "And you? Are you going for the disco?" I simply shake my head indicating that I'm not. I've been trying to tell him exactly what Natalia said ever since we entered high school. At disco, all you do is dance and listen to music, with teachers watching your every move. At the end, they give you chicken and a drink. At class party, you can dance, listen to music, watch movies, use your computer, chat with your friends and be able to actually hear what they are saying, rather than music blasting in your ear. And there is much more food than just chicken and drinks. Some bring pizza, hot dogs, cakes, ice cream, and so on and so forth. Plus, a lot of crazy things happen in the disco. Last year, some of the seniors went in with condoms. I really do not want to start thinking about what happened in there. The next term, some seniors were expelled immediately. Some got pregnant some even brought drugs to school. That is something I'd rather not be a part of. I really don't know why people go for disco. "Well, I'm not going for disco either, then," Joseph says, realizing that he'd be all alone with no one to talk to or dance with.
"Good lad," I say, slowly patting his shoulder to console him. "I'll be in homeroom"
"We'll meet you there."
On that note, the bell for end of school rings and we all walk put the front door. Our parents had allowed all three of us to get together through the week. We had a full day planned. First off, the cinema, followed by a quick snack then either go-karting or the game arcade then lunch then another movie, if there's time, another one, one movie chosen by each of us, and finally, we head back home, Natalia's house. That's the final point; at least for today. Tomorrow, it will be Joseph's house, then mine and then back to Natalia, and the cycle goes on and on.
We scurry like little mice into the cinema hall, getting ready for the movie. We are the first people there; and everyone knows that if you leave three teenagers in the same room without adult supervision, then things will most definitely go wild, and they did. And what better way to go wild than with a good, healthy, silly game of truth or dare? And like a silly little boy, I always chose dare. Natalia chose dare most of the time as well. And Joseph was the sane one out of all of us that played it safe and chose truth; at least for the most part.
It was Natalia's turn to dare me, and she had dared me to jump over each row of seats, one-by-one, until I got to the bottom, then jump back up in the same way. I did it; I thought I was mad, but I did it. There were loads of crazy dares, like the one when Joseph dared Natasha to "wiggle your attractive behind at the front of a cinema line which I would pick out." She gave him what must have been the hottest slap of the century before, strangely enough, going along with the dare. His cheeks were literally pulsing red from the slap. I almost felt sorry for him but the glowing red on his cheeks and his face of shock, terror and pain was just to funny. Natalia got back and immediately, Joseph got up and took the seat beside me so that she was sitting at on my right and he on my left, rather than he sitting next to her where she could always easily slap him again; now the slap would have crossed me, hopefully giving him enough time to see it and dodge it. I honestly don't blame him; after a slap like that, I'd be avoiding that person for the next month.
