HERMIONE'S POV
I asked Cormac Mclaggen to Slughorn's party and I absolutely regret it. I wish I just went with my boyfriend instead but I know we can't be seen in public, unless it would be the two of us insulting each other.Mum sent me this beautiful pink dress and I love it – too bad that I won't be able to dance in it, though. Not with my partner.
I have been hiding behind the curtains since I arrived here and my feet are starting to hurt.
How am I going to escape from here?
I was just standing there when I saw a dark figure go towards the curtains.
"Harry!" I whisper-shouted.
"'Mione, why are you here? Mclaggen's been finding you everywhere." Harry whispered.
I kind of felt bad for Cormac. But, he really is creepy and I really don't like him. "I know, Harry, it's just that he's creeping me out."
"Yeah, I know. But are you gonna hide here forever?" Harry asked with full of concern.
"Um, I don't really know, Har. Maybe until he leaves. Don't worry about me, how's Luna?"
"Oh, Luna's great. My night's going well. Are you sure you don't wanna get out of here? I mean we can tell Mclaggen that you're feeling ill and need to go back to your dorm."
"It's ok, Harry."
Harry hugged me. "Okay, 'Mione. I have to go, Luna's probably looking for me."
"Bye, enjoy your night."
"I sure will, 'Mione!" He whisper-shouted.
✦
I managed to get out of there with Neville's help. It turned out that there was another exit and I'm really thankful that Neville decided to help with Professor Slughorn's party.
I was walking towards the Gryffindor girls' dorm when someone suddenly sneered.
"See, Granger? No one would go with you to the party! You know why? Because you are a filthy little mudblood, that's why!"
"Draco, no one's here. You don't need to pretend anymore. Great acting, though."
He sighed and wrapped his arms around me.
"Hi, love. You look absolutely beautiful tonight. I wish I could just dance with you at Slughorn's party, Mcclaggen's so lucky."
I brought my hand up and tousled his soft platinum blonde hair. He leaned to my touch.
"I know, but we can dance somewhere else."
His gray eyes flashed to a silver one and his lips curved to a smile. "Let's go, then."
✦
Draco and I ran towards the Quidditch fields hand in hand, going unnoticed as it was almost curfew time already and I'm pretty sure the students went to bed, but we still were cautious to not be caught.
I have no idea why he's brought me here but we stood there looking into each other's eyes.
He wrapped his arms around my waist and I wrapped mine around his neck as we danced.
Soon, our swaying slowed down and I rested my head on his chest, smelling his perfume that always seemed to make me feel at home.
"I wish that we can stay here forever, Dray."
"I know, love. I wish that I can just hold your hands while we walk to our classes, I wish I can take you out on Hogsmeade dates without being worried about someone seeing us, I wish I can kiss you in front of everyone and tell them that Hermione Granger's my girlfriend and I'm so damn proud she is."
I couldn't help but feel sad but I do truly understand our situation: me being a muggle-born and him being a pureblood, me being a Gryffindor and him being a Slytherin, me being Harry's best friend and him being the supposed arch-nemesis of The Chosen One.
Sometimes I wish things were different so that we could love each other freely without boundaries and without hiding.
But I knew that all that mattered was that Draco loved me and I loved him.
