He should've seen this coming. How can he be so oblivious? There were so many signs, and yet he didn't even notice, not once!
Here we was, facing his once former death eater, Antonin Dolohov.
He heard about what happened in Azkaban, of course he had. And yet he didn't do anything about it. If it wasn't for Granger, he would've been killed by this deranged man.
Now, there they were – face to face with each other. Granger on his left and Dolohov on his right, wands pointed at each other.
"I'm sure we can talk this through. Just leave Granger out of this, please." He pleaded.
Hermione narrowed her big brown eyes at him. "Draco, no! We're in this together."
"Granger, please shut up and leave all your Gryffindor bravery shit in school. This isn't like any other Voldy encounter you had with Potter and Weasley – which you seem to avoid all the time, alright?"
Dolohov pulled off a wicked laugh. "I never thought I'd live to see the days where little Malfoy would try and save a mudblood."
"Anyways," Dolohov continued. "Let's go back to where we were, shall we?"
Both Draco and Hermione tensed up and became more alert.
"You! You betrayed us. You were a coward, Malfoy. It's true what they say, like father, like son! And of course, our favorite little mudblood...I can't believe you defended this pathetic excuse of a wizard from all of his charges. I wouldn't be surprised if I found out that you two were...er, dating?"
"Expell– "
Dolohov dodged the spell quickly and gave the blonde boy a wicked smirk.
"You really think that you could successfully
disarm me? And here I was thinking that you were smart because you were second to this filthy little mudbl – ""Stupefy!" Hermione spoke clearly, making Dolohov fall backwards and hit a wall.
"You'll pay for that!"
Dolohov somehow put a silent wandless spell on Draco that kept him from moving.
"Crucio!" The man yelled, causing Hermione to wince in pain.
He watched the woman he loved being tortured repeatedly by the death eater.
"Please, stop. Please! I'm begging you."
"Hmm...let me see, you betrayed us all by tipping the ministry about our whereabouts so, no. I will not stop torturing your girl."
He screamed and sobbed as tears streamed all over his cheeks that Dolohov had to hit him with a silencing charm to shut him up.
She took so much crucios that blood seeped from her clothes, creating a pool of the putrid crimson liquid when she fell to the floor.
He don't know how but he finally got to move and the crucios stopped. When it did, he instantly ran to his Hermione.
"Mi, why didn't you wait for me? You're so unfair. We were in this together, remember? I was about to p-propose! I should've done it sooner...Hermione, I love you."
She gave him a weak smile. "I'm so sorry, Dray. I love you. Goodbye, my love."
More tears fell down his pale cheeks as Hermione fell into a deep slumber.
He sobbed, kissed her forehead, cried out her name, all while holding the love of his life in his arms - her blood in his hands.
