one shots like these make me cryIt had been 326 days since she last saw her husband, so when she did, she immediately ran into his arms.
Hermione and Draco shared a bone-crushing hug as soon as their eyes met.
"I missed you so much, love."
"As do I," said Draco as he buried his nose into Hermione's messy brown curls.
Both of them had tears streaming down their cheeks as they showed their love for each other in their hug.
Soon, Hermione's legs were wrapped around Draco's waist, still clinging onto him as if her life depended on it.
She smiled through her tears. "Is this really happening, love? Is this not just a dream? I can't believe we're finally together."
"God, I missed you. I missed you so much, my love. I promise nothing is gonna keep us apart, not anymore." Draco said as he put her petite body then he kissed her forehead.
"I love you."
"I love you, too, baby."
Hermione sat on his lap as he played with her loose curls. "How'd you do it?"
"Do what?"
"Survive Azkaban. You're father lasted two months in there, you were there for almost a year and yet you still look handsome."
Draco chuckled. "You and Elara. The both of you was what kept me going. Everytime a dementor would come, I would think about our happiest memories. Like when Elle was born, our wedding day, when I proposed and you said 'yes', when I found that pregnancy test in the bathroom – all those, love. Those memories kept me going, hoping that one day I'd get out of that place and be with you two again, as a family. I love you so much."
"I love you, too and I'm so sorry you had to go through all this, love. I wish I was the one who took your place. You suffered so m— "
Draco lifted her chin with two fingers gently so she would look at him. "Shh...You're the reason why I got out of that place. You were amazing, Mi. Watching you defend me in front of everyone else in the courtroom. Binge-watching Suits really paid off, huh?"
Hermione laughed. "So you're saying that I'm not a good lawyer? Gosh, I'm so hurt."
"Hey, I didn't mean it like that. And that's supposed to be my line! You stole it. Didn't you know lawyers are supposed to make law, not break them?"
"It's just a line! Geez, Malfoy."
"Back to last names are we now, Malfoy? And by the way, did you forget the fact that you stole my heart and last name, too?"
"Ugh! You are impossible!" She huffed.
Draco gave her a playful smirk. "Too bad you're stuck with me forever, then."
"I wouldn't have it in any other way."
He smiled as they sat on the bench together.
"Where's Elara, by the way? I guess she doesn't wanna see her handsome daddy."
She elbowed him. "Ellie's in school. You know how she can't miss any of her classes."
"Yeah. If you're Hermione Granger's child, you can't miss any of your classes, EVER!"
"It's Hermione Malfoy now and please do shut up, dear husband."
Draco's eyes lit up as an idea popped into his mind, "Mi, let's pick her up from daycare!"
They apparated into their home and they drove to Elara's daycare.

"Does she still remember me, love?"
Hermione smiled as she interlocked their fingers – which fit together like a puzzle.
"Of course she does! She talks about you everyday. Whenever I pick her up from here, I hear Ellie talking about how her dad being her hero and how he loves her so much."
"Oh," was all he said as a tear fell down his face when he felt two familiar chubby little hands hugged both of his legs.
"Dwaddy, Ewawa missed you so mwuch!"
Draco smiled at his daughter in awe. "Hi my little angel. Daddy missed you too."
He scooped Elara into his arms, her chubby legs resting against his chest.
Draco just watched Elara smile and giggle when he noticed she was holding a folded paper in her tiny little hands.
"Oh, what's that Ellie?"
"It's a dwawing of us, dwaddy. I made it, see? I put my siwnwatuwe!" Elara smiled brightly as though she was so proud of her work.
It was a drawing of Draco, Hermione, and little Elara in front of their house with their pets, Waffles and Crookshanks.
He looked at the lower right corner of her drawing and saw that she had scribbled 'E. Malfoy' in messy handwriting as her signature.
"This is great, my little princess! You know, one day you should become an artist."
Elara frowned. "No Dwaddy, I wanna bwew potions, potions, and mowe potions! I'm gonna be the best witch at Hogwawts evah!"
"You really are a Malfoy, aren't you?"
"I reawwy am, dwaddy."
"Aww, I really missed you and your mom, El. Daddy was very sad when I was away."
"Me too, dwaddy. Mummy cwies hewsewf to sweep evewynight and I jwust hug hewr."
Draco felt more tears and he probably looked like an alien from all the crying but who wouldn't cry when you've been falsely accused of being the most known murderer in the Wizarding World, killing 6 half-blood and 8 muggle-born wizards, Dean Thomas and Susan Bones when you were just trying to buy a playhouse for your daughter's first birthday and was framed. Absolutely no one.
Good thing Hermione dug an evidence that proved that Cho Chang under the imperius curse was the killer, and not Draco.
Now, he swore that nothing and no one would ever separate him from his family and that he would protect Elara and Hermione at all cost.
