Gabriel kept hold of her hand for the duration of the hour drive to his apartment complex. He tried to explain about the portal through the woods and warned of the motion sickness during the pass-through. Soren nodded vaguely and tried not to feel so apprehensive.
Once they arrived, Gabriel packed some clothes into a small duffle bag. He knew Soren would need them. He was coming back to the car when he saw Soren bury her face in her hands and begin sobbing. He raced to the car, flung open the door, and pulled her into her arms.
He sang to calm her. When she stopped crying and told him that everything was okay he kissed her forehead and got in the car. Soren closed her eyes and fell asleep once Gabriel turned on the stereo.

It was twilight when she awoke to the sound of car doors slamming. Gabriel was walking to her side of the car. As he opened the door he explained the 'schedule' for tonight.
"I already told you about the moon phase tonight. Well, I figured that since we had to change anyways why not put it to use. So tonight, we are going 3/4ths of the way on paws."
Soren gave a nervous smile.
"Sounds..." she dropped the adjective.
"Fun?" he supplied laughing.
"I was thinking more along the lines of 'atrocious.'" she laughed.
He put his arm around her shoulder. "I know you're nervous but I've got something to show you if you'll stick with me."
Soren nodded and hugged him.
"Let's go then. I need you to do me a favor okay?"
"What do you need?"
"You are going to get something called 'Moon Fever'. I just need you to tell me if you start to feel sick in any way."
Soren nodded.
Once it was completely dark, Soren noticed that she could see extremely well even though only small slivers of moonlight reached through the thick canopy of trees.
"Does a headache count as sick cause I'm starting to get one?"
"Yeah, that would count as sick." He turned towards her. "I'm going to help you change. Then I'm going to do the same thing. Just breathe."
Soren looked terrified but closed her eyes and tried to relax.
"Are you ready?"
She nodded.
"Keep your eyes closed."
She nodded again.
"Open your mouth."
Soren's eyes snapped open.
"Wha—"
Gabriel claimed her mouth with his own. The kiss wasn't gentle, to begin with. It was rough, hot, passionate. He kissed her as if he was taking possession of her. She felt her headache strike up. Gabriel reached up a hand and pulled her hair lightly at first then harder. She moaned from the pain. She moaned from the pleasure. Soren responded back just as roughly by raking her nails across Gabriel's back. She felt the pain in her head grow stronger.
Gabriel slowly pushed her until she was lowered to the ground. Her arms came around his neck as his hands splayed on her belly. She became so absorbed in him that she didn't notice her skin growing into fur. She thought that it was over, that she wasn't going to change until Gabriel moved away from her and her mouth took on a new shape. Soren finished the change and watched Gabrielfollow suit. Two wolves, one black and one silver and black raced through the woods.

Soren found it considerably easier to change back once they reached the portal to the magick realm the sought. Gabriel was changed before she was.
"Wasn't that bad now was it?" he kissed her lightly.
"Not really." She giggled.
"I want to show you something."
He led her through a large cemetery to a small marker covered in leaves. He brushed the leaves off and let her read the marker.

Her mother's grave. She felt a surge of grief from the memory of her loss followed a surge of love for the thought put into this.
"Gabby."
"Sorinave."
"I...I'm tired. Let's go home."
He nodded and they walked to the house on the hill that looked over the cemetery.
"Home sweet home," Gabriel said as they came in the door.
They walked up the stairs to the master bedroom and took off their shoes and socks. Soren lay on the bed and Gabriel followed her. They kissed as the had in the woods and fell into a lover's embrace within moments.
