She was running through the dark.

She could feel it pressing into her.

Stealing her breath.

Snatching her life.

Her head began to pound.

She stopped running and fell to the ground.

Soren clutched at her.

The pain felt as if she were splitting in half.

She tried to scream.

Nothing came out as she lay and convulse.

Her limbs twisted.

Her spine cracked.

Her skin began to rip and grow into silver hair.

She pulled her lips back as her mouth began to reform, her teeth already turned sharp.

Soren took three quick breaths.

A long scream erupted from her.

The scream erupted into a howl.

Something took hold of her.

It shook her roughly.

"Come back to me. Please come back to me."

It whispered to her.

The pain came again.

It wasn't as bad this time.

Everything Soren had just went through came back in reverse.

The hair shrank, skin there anew.

Her teeth dulled.

Her mouth reformed a normal shape.

The pain, though not as sharp as before but still mind crippling, began to drift away.

Breathing hard, she lay there.

Tears rolled from the corners of her eyes as the dark faded.

His face came into view, her room surrounding them.

Gabriel leaned towards her.

She whispered his name.

Lifting her arms, she hugged him close.

More of her tears fell.

He pulled back.

With a fiendish grin he said, "Guess, again!"

His body structure changed beneath her arms.

His face morphed.

Eyes became a brilliant electric blue.

Mouth thinned into a beautiful line.

"Nathaniel?" she whispered.

His head whipped down towards her neck.

She felt pain, quick and sharp, at the point of his mouth.

Feeling the long drawn out pulls as he drank from her, Soren nearly passed out.

Blood loss caused her vision to fade.

As blackness surrounded her, she heard the voice calling to her.

"Come back. Please, come back to me."

She slid from pain into numbness, as the absence of light claimed her.

The voice continued to call to her.

It pulled at her mind just as Nathaniel pulled at her vain.

She wanted to float just like she was, in this almost warm, almost pleasant dark.

The voice kept calling.

The darkness began to dissolve.

All around her, light began filling in.

Soren blinked her eyes sluggishly. She was in her room. Gabriel sat on one side of her. Damian sat on the other. Both gripped her hands and wept silently. Soren's voice came out a hoarse croak as she squeezed both their hands.

"What...happened?"

Damian cried harder and it was Gabriel that spoke.

"Soren, I will use this name for an easier comprehension of my words," Gabriel began.

"On this night, April 19, you experienced something very rare. So rare that it has only happened once before to my knowledge. It would seem that your mind is powerful enough to change bits of your reality. In your dream tonight, your form changed into a silver and black wolf, did it not?"

Soren's eyes widened with realization.

"Yes, but it was only silver from my view," she was still hoarse but not as bad.

"Your hair on top of your head was black."

"I'm scared you know how you know this."

"Tonight in your dream you changed. Tonight in your bed you changed."

"But I thought I would only change with the moon until I practiced!"

"Like I said this doesn't happen often. In fact, it's only known to have happened once before."

"Wait, who was the first?"

"Danica Grovisa. Your mother."
