Gabriel watched her as yet another tear rolled down her cheek. His need to comfort her was immense but he withheld the need to grab her and kiss her until the only thing she remembered was his lips on hers.

Damian leapt up suddenly and hugged her. Gabriel's head whipped towards him, yellow eyes filled with pure, unadulterated hatred at the ease at which Damian used to comfort his Soren.

'Where did that come from?' he thought. 'How is she my Soren?'

Gabriel forced himself to stay where he was though the jealousy grew stronger, making him want to leap upon Damian and crush his skull with sub-human power. His skin tingled. His favorite buzzing sensation began at the crown of his skull and slowly spread to the base, following the path of his spine, and finally spreading to his limbs. The anger he felt was triggering his animal-like traits inducing the change. Giving Damian one last spiteful look, he arose.

"Sorinave," he said stroking her face, whilst Damiancradled her from behind, "I must leave you."

Soren grabbed his hand and pulled out of Damian's grasp, leaning towards him.

"Why?" she pleaded, her grip tightening.

"I must do what is natural to me."

"But I want you to stay here with me!" her lids drifted down slightly as she pouted.

"I will return to you, my treasure. I promise that."

Gabriel's hand slid to the base of her neck where he felt her pulse jump sporadically. Their eyes closed in perfect sync as their lips met. His lips moved against hers. She sighed and opened herself to him. He took her lower lip into his mouth and bit it lightly. She boldly danced her tongue against his. This fierce, passionate kiss continued until someone cleared their throat.

Breaking the kiss, Soren leaned back and giggled.

"Um, anyway," she giggled again, "why are you leaving?" Soren asked her voice bubbly.

Gabriel was shocked to realize that he didn't feel the need to shift anymore. Never before had he felt the need to change leave without first being fulfilled. Gabriel had gone through the 1st change at 15 therefore he had been dealing with his lycanthropy for about 5 years. However, there was folklore that told of a few rare findings that would stop the change. Most of those myths, however, were known to be fake. The most common and believable one was the myth that an embrace from your true love would stop the change. Gabriel had never known love. Perhaps Soren was his true love as the oracle who had foretold her story predicted.

A beast of dark hair and bright eyes be the love of her life.

Older may he be, age is something love cannot see.

Together they will be til with death they separate, but before then a child she and he will create.

If he falls before born is the child it will fall with him, whilst she stays her crimes never forgiven.

But if after the birth he dies the child will create greatness in his life.

Gabriel looked at her with love in his eyes.

"Never mind my love. I don't suppose I need to go. I'd felt the need to change, however, it would seem that I have just proven one of the many myths of our heritage true."

"What myth is that?"

Gabriel explained the myth of how your soul mate could stop the change. She listened fascinated. Gabriel stilled his tongue at the question that perched on it. Soren had a look of such joy on her face at the mention of love. That look began to dim at the look of hesitation on his face.
