"Miss! The office of the CEO called. Pinapahatid daw po sa taas iyong hard copy ng presentation niyo po."

"Bakit pa kailangan ng hard copy? I could just email it again.", maldita kong tugon at umirap.

"Mi-miss kasi..."

"Fine. I'll print it. Ikaw na maghatid, is that okay?"

Seriously, ayoko siyang makita! We are officially off! The moment he lied was the moment I'm cutting it off. For sure he did.

I don't want to see him! The heck, I won't avoid him, but I couldn't stand seeing his face knowing he lied. Resigning would be unreasonable. My reason would be invalid. Kaya dapat kong magpakatatag.

"Miss kasi... Personally daw po." She even quoted the word personally.

"Ano?! Fine. Ako na ang bahala." I sighed heavily and massaged my temple.

Tumayo ako para maprint iyong presentation ko kanina. Hindi ko alam kung bakit kailangan pa noon, eh palagi naman sinesend through email ang lahat ng copy ng presentations namin.

I promised myself to act cool, to pretend that it wasn't a big deal. That this whole thing is not a big deal. But as I come nearer to his office, I couldn't help but ponder upon what I saw. I know I'm an accountant and assuming is not our thing, but I couldn't help it.

Did he intentionally ignore my messages? O katulad nga ng sinabi ni Jane na pure business only. But he said he was in Cavite.

Agad na bumungad sa akin ang nakangiting sekretarya ni Tim.

I glanced shortly at the double doors not far from his secretary's counter.

"Good afternoon, miss!"

"Good afternoon.", I smiled shortly, glancing back to her.

"Is he there?", tanong ko.

She looked at me in puzzle. Alam kong nagtataka siya sa tanong ko dahil dati-dati naman ay diretso lang ang pasok ko.

"Uh... He has a visitor inside, but you can just go straight inside po." Napatigil ako. Visitor?

"Ah, no need. I'll just left this here. I should go. That someone might be relevant.", sabay lapag ko sa dala kong folder.

Agad akong tumalikod at humakbang. I halfheartedly took my steps. But just as I was about to walk away, I heard the intercom buzzed.

"Nandito pa po, sir. Yes sir... Paalis po."

"Miss! Sandali lang po.", I halted and faced her.

"Yes?"

"Pumasok daw po kayo."

Umiling ako. "Wag na. Tell him, the presentation is there, complete with notes."

"But miss - ,"

Bago pa ako nakatalikod ay halos mapatalon ako sa gulat nang padarag na nagbukas ang double doors.

The impact was so loud and strong that it resonated throughout the floor. His serious face is what my eyes first caught.

"Via.", his voice was cold and deep that I regretted I didn't immediately leave.

Agad na lumipat ang tingin ko sa babaeng kakalabas lang din doon.

My eyes shifted, mabilis na nahagip ng aking paningin ang crumpled part sa bandang dulo ng hem ng skirt niya.
