Chapter 2

Narrator's point of view

Violette couldn't help but keep looking up and down from her plate. She hasn't spoken to her for so long because of her moving out the country. Violette wanted to talk to her former girlfriend who sat across their table, she just couldn't do that without drawing attention.

"Wasn't that girl with Fred and George in the train? I heard she's also from Beauxbaton before she moved here." Ron asked while all three friends looked over their side to Violette who was talking with Fred.

"Really? She's in Gryffindor and does not look French at all." Harry exclaimed while his eyes studied the girl from afar.

Hermione took her friends' words into account while she looked away from Violette who almost caught them looking at her.

"Someone bothering you?" George asked while he tried to follow Violette's gaze but failed when he couldn't see anyone of interest.

"Uh No. Just wondering about the tournament. How come I haven't heard of anyone coming here in Hogwarts?"

George and Fred shrugged in unison, "We thought you knew. Anyways, any Beauxbaton girl you can introduce me to?" Fred asked secretly looking to the Ravenclaw's table.

Violette laughed and hit the back of his head, "Look away before you embarrass yourself." Fred gave her a hurtful look which made his twin laugh.

"He's always like that. Anyways, surely you can help a friend out, Violette?" George asked as well and looked over his shoulder making Violette ruffle his hair roughly.

"You two really are so alike." She said rolling her eyes with a smile, the twins laugh causing attention from the Golden Trio who was near them.

Harry noticed some familiar details in Violette, despite him being far he saw her nose familiar and so was her laugh. Ofcourse, he didn't know who she resembles but wants to ask his bestfriend's brothers what her name is later on.

"So Violette, how are you liking Hogwarts so far?" A girl scooted besides George, the two seemed close.

George lazily wrapped his around the younger girl, "This is Ginny, my sister as you can see where she gets her looks from."

Violette rolled her eyes with a smile and extended her hand towards Ginny who gladly shook hers, "Pleasure to meet you."

Violette Black enjoyed the company from the Weasleys, She heard great stories from her mother about everyone and everything in her year here. Somewhere deep inside her she wanted to study where her mother did, she just never could since her whole life is in France. But now she had the chance.

Out of the corner of her eye, she saw a familiar pair of blue eyes from the Ravenclaw table looking at her. Both girls looked at each other with blank faces, neither seemed to want to look away.

Ofcourse she had to when Dumbledore spoke once more in front pulling her gaze away.

"I saw that." Fred whispered and winked at her, Violette sighed clasping her face for a split second and listening to the speech.

Once she settled inside her dorm room with two other people sleeping with her there, she received a letter knowing that it was from her mother. She looked around and saw that the only other girl here was Lavender Brown.

She opened it carefully and read every word that wad written with her mother's hand writing.

Dear Violette,

I know that you are still getting settled in and adjust some difficult times, I don't want to hide things from you and is the reason why I'm telling you that I will be returning to France for 4 days. I have unfinished business in my work and have to handle it personally. I got word that you got in Gryffindor, I'm proud of you, Violette. I know that house is what you want and even though your father was in Gryffindor as well, I'm positive that he won't hear from you. Write to me in our old house, I'll make sure to read it every chance I get, okay? Now don't give me an upset look and chin up, you have many friends there especially that there is the triwizard tournament going on. Say hi to Nicole for me, I love you.
