"Well look what happened! You think I'm innocent now? Gan's dead."
"I'm sorry! I just don't know what to believe!"
"So you think I'm not the imposter."
"I-I'm not sure what I believe."Jessica paused when she heard the arguing. Raha and Prem's voices were clear from the corner of the hallway to storage Jessica was standing in. She peeked to see them standing by the garbage chute.
Prem angrily glared at her.
"Good. You shouldn't be so sure about who the imposter is or isn't."Jessica heard a noise coming from the door to electrical. She turned to watch carefully. It made her shift uncomfortably, especially since a light or two was flickering from the room.
She wondered if she should interrupt the other two or go check what was going on in electrical. She looked sideways to the hallway. The lights in electrical suddenly went out. The room was completely dark, and Jessica stared its way. It was brief, but she saw a pair of glowing eyes peering out at her, before blinking out. A vague outline of a smiling face disappeared quickly. They were inviting her, daring her to come out and see what was going on for herself. A bead of sweat rolled down her neck. Before she could take more than a couple of steps towards the door, she felt a tap on her shoulder and jumped a couple of feet back.
"What task are you working on, Jess?" Assisi asked.
Jessica put a hand to her chest and shook her head."I thought I saw something strange in electrical. A pair of eyes."
Assisi's smile faltered. "Really?"
"It could've just been... my imagination. So I thought I'd check it out.""Alone?!" She said, flabbergasted. "Don't move around alone! Didn't you see what happened to Gan?!"
Jessica lowered her head.
Assisi took a deep breath and steeled herself. "I'll come with you."Jessica bit back what she was going to say and nodded. "Where's Simi?"
"I think he's off in Weapons. I had some work in Admin."As they began walking towards the door slowly, they both jumped when they heard someone yell behind them, "Wait!"
Prem caught up to them, and Assisi visibly shivered a little. Jessica put a hand on her arm and forced a smile."Prem, hey."
"Are you going to electrical? Can I come with you folks? That place gives me the creeps."
The two women exchanged a glance and Assisi blinked a couple times before nodding. "Sure. Jessica just told us she thought she saw a person in there. So let's be careful.""Alright... I think the three of us together should be fine." He said, looking a little sad.
The three walked in and were greeted by the eerie darkness of the place. Thankfully their flashlights were working, and they could check out the place with ease. They checked each corner slowly, almost expecting something to jump out at any moment, but there was no one to be found.Prem walked over to a corner and began fixing a few frayed wires. Assisi and Jessica watched.
He heard a little rattle coming from under him once the wires got fixed, and turned to look below him. A small grated vent was directly below him, and he took a moment to look into it. The other two came to look, but somehow the darkness stretched on seemingly forever."You think something could fit in there...?" Prem asked.
"Not a person," Jessica responded.
"We aren't looking for a person, though." Assisi remarked.Suddenly, the system went crazy. Sirens began blaring and the emergency red lights of the cabin began flashing.
"Warning. Nuclear meltdown has commenced. Warning. Nuclear meltdown has commenced—" The AI began playing the message on loop.
Every crew-mate suddenly panicked and ran towards the back of the plane, to the nuclear reactor. Assisi, Jessica, and Prem were the first ones there, and on their way, they ran into a couple of others.
A little east, in the hallway of the storage room, Kandor was running over from the O2 room towards the reactor, and noticed a figure in orange sitting over something. He pulled closer a bit, just to see that the "something" was a dismembered body. Simi, sitting over it, was shouting something. Kandor took a few steps back.
He waited to hear footsteps, and when he did, he pretended to emerge from the Communications room.
"Hey, Chantelle."
"Kandor," she nodded. The two of them ran over, and Chantelle gasped when she saw the dismembered body. Kandor knocked over a canister of gas, and Simi turned. His arms were covered in red, and he stared at the two, before his eyes widened.
"Guys! It's Raha!"
The two noticed the purple pants the newest victim was wearing.
"Raha– Raha's dead!"
Chantelle and Kandor looked at each other, confusion on both their faces. Simi got off his knees, and Chantelle immediately yelled, "Stay back!""Chantelle?"
"Just– stay back!"The cabin suddenly turned off its sirens, and the lights went back to normal.
Elsewhere, the other crew members had scanned the issue with the reactor and patched it as quickly as they could."There's no way the reactor would behave this way unless it was tampered with." Chiedza said, her arms folded. "This must have been sabotaged."
The AI once again blared out another message. "A Code 1 emergency meeting has been called. A dead body has been reported. Please make your way to the cafeteria immediately."
Dread pooled in everybody's stomach. This can't be good.
