4. About that...

When I woke up all I could think about was getting my hair done after school.

I messaged Alexus

Mayah; good morning baby 😘 have a nice day!

Alexus: ooo somebody's in a good mood🥰

Alexus: wait a minute... in a good mood after being with another girl 🙃

Mayah: omg bae it's not like that. We're strictly friends. I don't even think she's gay

Alexus: you don't think? So y'all didn't have that conversation?

"Wow, you have a lot to say this morning... what's so important?" My mom asked as she drove me to school.

She had been looking over every now and then while I was texting as if I was just suppose to spill the tea to her.

Why? So she can tell me my love isn't real since it's for a girl?

I stared out the window.

Evee: are you coming to school today? Don't tell me you ditched me. 🙄

Mayah: Nope. My mom decided to put on a full face of makeup just to drop me off 😤 I'm running late.

Evee: does she know you're coming with me after school?

"Ma, I'm hanging out with my friend after school again today."

Mayah: she does now 🙂

She looked over at me. "When am I gonna meet this friend?"

"You don't need to" I said without making eye contact."She's just Sophie's cousin"

"One, you don't tell me who I 'need' to know and Awww! I'm sure she's nice. Sophie's so sweet and beautiful"

I rolled my eyes looking out the window.

I was so glad when we got closer to the school. Believe it or not me and my mom do get along sometimes.. just not since she ruined my fucking life. I know it sounds dramatic but Lighterdale is all I've ever known. It's not a huge town. I knew most of the kids in my grade and nobody ever had a problem with me. I even use to be a cheerleader in middle school.. but high school level is a whole nother story. They just want you to put all of your time into it. Not to mention I've moved to a whole nother school and I have no idea how good they are.
