8. The Beginning of the end

I couldn't focus all day Thursday. Which really fucking sucks because I had two tests and Sophie's been on our ass about perfecting our cheers for the away game this Friday.

"I said herkey! That's not a fucking herkey Samayah!"

I huffed frustrated. I was only doing this shit for Alexus. I can't even focus on it with my mind slipping.

"From the top. 5 6 7 8..... SAMAYAH!"

My head snapped to her. I swore I was doing it right this time.

"Fuck up again and you'll be on the bench with the water boy!"

"Then fucking kick me off!" I snapped on her. She looked hella surprised,. I stormed away into the locker room.

"Okay guys, that's a wrap for tonight! Go home and pack your shit! Get some rest. We're heading out after school at 3pm tomorrow."

I didn't even have my practice clothes off before Sophie popped up, in my corner of the locker room.

"What's going on with you?"

"Not only do you not really care but I wouldn't tell you if you did"

She huffed "have I still not proven that I genuinely want to be friends with you?"

"What was suppose to convey the message? You calling me a house slave or you trying to burn off my taste buds?"

"Oh my god. I haven't said anything like that in so long! And the peppers was for a haze everybody had to do it."

"And I told myself if I did that shit for my girlfriend and she still cheated on me I'd beat her ass. But here we are"

"I thought we already knew she was cheating." She asked sitting on the bench.

I didn't say anything. I just pulled up Alexus's snap and went to her location. Just as I expected it was back at Mercedes house.

"And not even smart about" Sophie said shaking her head.

"Whatever  I just wasted my time making friends and joining the squad for her. It's not like I loved her or anything" I chuckled sarcastically

"Wait you said she lived in Lighterdale right?"

"Yea" I said annoyed that I couldn't change my clothes in peace.

"You know our game is only 2 hours away from there right?"

My heart started pumping fast. "I could dead ass drive you to bust them"

"Why would you help me?"

"Because I want to be your friend... and she deserves it. Fuck her."

I bit my lip.

"Under one condition, if I drive you up to meet her you have to stay on the squad."

I shook my head looking away. "Fine."

As school got closer to ending on Friday, my heart wouldn't slow down. Not to mention being in a car for 5 hours with Evee and Sophie.

"Let's stop and get some McDonald's." Evee groaned leaning back in the front seat.

"We don't have stop and get McDonald's time. That's why I told you to bring snacks. I knew you were going to be a little piggy." Sophie glared at her.

"Bitch just give me one of your snacks"

"It'll cost you 20 sit ups" Sophie smirked.

They have hella tension going on. But somehow we got there.. in one piece. And we made it through the game. I messed up every time I thought about Alexus. Fuck I just want to get over her. It was probably 10 something when the game was finally over. Then we got back in the car for a 2 hours drive. We didn't even get time to change out of our cheerleading uniforms.
