When I got to second block Sophie was ready to aggravate me.
I sat in the seat I sat in yesterday and she started laughing about something.
"What?" I said turning around.
"Not everything is about you.. conceited much." She said rolling her eyes to Tommy.
"I'm sorry I'm so use to you being obsessed with me for absolutely no reason."
She scoffed. "Obsessed? No I'm just wonder when you're going to give your hair a rest. Honey, I would say it's clinging on for dear life but it's long gone." She cracked up near the end. Tommy thought it was the funniest shit in the world.
She reached up and flipped my hair. I quickly pushed it back down cause I know it was sticking up.
"Stiff where?" She giggled.
"Your not just going to bully me bitch. If you want to we can handle this out of school. You know where I live."
I didn't want to let that shit get to me. But I'm not just going to let her entertain herself by talking shit about me.
Sophie smirked. "It was just a joke. You didn't have to 'take it to the streets'"
"Keep talking to me and I'll drag you in the streets."
As soon as my sentence came out the teacher walked in. She better be glad. If it wasn't for him I'd still be cussing her out.
"Angry black woman alert." I heard Sophie mumbled. I flared my nostrils and took a deep breath trying not to spazz.
"Walk a mile in my shoes... what does that mean?" Our teacher asked walking in and sitting on his desk. "Yes, Sophie?"
I cringed when I heard her name.
"It means don't judge me until you know me."
I scoffed.
"What was that Samayah?"
"Wh-noth-"
"No there wasn't anything wrong. That was just a reactions. Why did you scoff when she said that?"
"Because somehow she understands the concept but still doesn't apply it and get to know people before she starts being a bi-bully."
"Uh! You can't just call me a bully."
"What Sophie said was right in way... but there's more to it. Who knows what's missing?"
Some girl raised her hand. "It's not just about knowing a person. It's also knowing what they've been through and how hard things have been for them."
"Excellent. You might see someone's actions... for example, Samayah. From your understanding Sophie treats people unfairly."
"Uh Yea.." clearly. I thought in my head a few people nodded or mummered basically agreeing.
I turned to look at Sophie. She was trying to look unphased but low key observing everybody's reaction.
"Well, have you ever stopped to wonder why, she acts the way she acts?" I snapped my head back towards him. "No."
"Well, in this class as we review literature we have to walk a mile from all points of view. Not just the victim but also the culprit. Sometimes when you analyze it and take factors of their lives into play you view them differently."
I didn't know what to say. I didn't know who won this one. But what I did know, was I could feel her eyes burning in the back of my head.
I don't want to walk a mile in her privileged ass shoes. I don't need to. She's the type of bitch who's always got everything handed to her. She's her parents perfect blonde haired blue eyed baby girl. Somebody has to hold her accountable for her actions.
