"swan, swan! wake up, its time to head for breakfast"

You slowly opened you eyed and sat up, letting out the biggest yawn possible. You stared at pansy who has woken you up and asked.

"What time is it pansy?"

"it's 8:20 we only have a few minutes before potions class."

You quickly got up and put on a pleated black skirt, a white shirt along with your Slytherin tie, your robe, Mary janes, and lastly the pendant necklace you've had since a very young age.

"Hurry y/n! its almost time"

You rushed to grab your books and, brushed your hair one last time before leaving.

"Sorry for rushing you swan, I'm just so excited", she said while smiling.

"no worries pansy, if you hadn't rushed me I would have probably taken way longer"

You both laughed together and headed for the dining room.

"look pansy, there's Crabbe Goyle and Malfoy"

you and pansy walked towards the small group of boys and sat down.

"good morning boys," you said with a big smile. They looked at you and said good morning as well while digging into the food.

You decided to eat a green apple and toast. You and your friends talked about all the best classes and the worst teachers.

"I heard proffesor snape is the scariest teacher, and we have him after breakfast!", Goyle said with a worried look on his face.

You chuckled and said, "I'm sure he's not that bad, but I guess we'll find out later"

You and your friends finished breakfast and hurried to the proffesor snapes classroom. You finally found his class and entered, most people already sat in their seats.

"Welcome first years I am professor snape and I will be your potions teacher"

You noticed how emotionless his voice sounded and how sharp each word he said sounded.

"The kids who just entered, I will be giving assigned seats, and you WILL stick to those seats for the rest of the year. Understood?.

All the kids looked intimidated and just nodded.

"Good.. y/n swan you will sit in this seat beside Draco Malfoy"

He pointed to a desk and walked towards it, You saw Draco doing the same and you sat down"

"hey look Draco, harry potters in this class also"

"pftt yeah along with the little mudblood and his weasly friend", he said with a disgusted look.

You were about to open your mouth and defend them but, you were interrupted by professor snape.

"There will be no wand-waving or silly incantations in this class. as such... I don't expect any of you to appreciate the subtle science and exact art of potion-making. However, for those select few, who possess the predisposition (he said looking at Malfoy), I can teach you how to bewitch the mind and ensnare the senses. I can tell you how to bottle fame, brew glory, and even put a stopper in death.

He stopped started staring at harry potter who was writing something, clearly ignoring snape, suddenly he continued speaking with a lazy voice.

"Then again, maybe some of you have come to Hogwarts in possession of abilities so formidable it'll feel confident enough, to not pay attention." His voice getting higher each time he looks at potter, whose still ignoring him. Draco began to smile an evil smile.

Hermionie finally nudged potter in the ribs, signaling him to snape. Harry stopped writing and looked at professor snapes emotionless face.

"I can see why people are afraid of him", I said to Draco.

He didn't listen, he was too busy enjoying snapes lecture to harry.

"Mr. potter. Our new celebrity, tell me what would I get if I added powdered root of asphodel, to an infusion of wormwood."

The brown-haired girl next to him quickly raised her hand, while harry looked down confused.

He shook his head showing he didn't know the answer.

Professor snape suddenly replied. "You don't know?. Well, let's try again, where Mr potter would you look if i asked you to find me a bezoar?.

Hermionie raised your hand again even faster this time. Clearly, Harry didn't know the answer again.

"I don't know sir", he finally spoke.

"And what is the difference between monkshood and wolfbane."

Hermione kept her hand up and harry said the same thing as before.

"I don't know sir"

"pity. Clearly, fame isn't everything, is it?", snape said with a sharper voice.

"Clearly Hermione knows, seems a pity not to ask her", Everyone gasped at Harry's comment.

"Silence" snape said. Snape gave potter the worst glare you have ever seen, for a long while. He then made his way quickly to potters' desk and grabbed a chair behind him to sit in. While walking over to harry he turned to hermionie and said, "put your hand down, you silly girl". She finally placed her hand down.

"For your information pottah, asphodel and wormwood make a sleeping potion so powerful, it is known as the draught of the living dead. A bezoar is a stone, taken from the stomach of a goat and it will save you from most poisons. As for monkshood and wolfbane, they are the same plant, which also goes by the name of aconite."

"Well why aren't any of you writing this down", He finished talking and made his way back to the front of his classroom.

"Oh and Gryffindors, note that 5 points will be taken from your house, for your classmate's cheek"

You heard Draco smile and chuckle. You felt bad for potter, I mean it was his first day at Hogwarts, so how could anyone possibly know all the answers. Well except for Hermione of course.

Your thinking got interrupted again by snape dismissing class.

"Alright that will be all for today, you are all dismissed."

You stood up and waited for Draco to pack his books, since you both had many classes together you decided it would be fun to walk together. But first, you wanted to do something.

"Hey Draco ill see you outside so we can walk to our next class"

He nodded and continued putting away his books. You rushed out of the classroom looking for Harry potter. You spotted him and walked towards him.

"hello harry, my names y/n swan. I just wanted to introduce myself to you, and I'm sorry about snape, he was a bit harsh."

"Don't be sorry y/n it's okay and nice to meet you too."

You shook his hand and smiled.

"Oh and this is hermionie and ron weasely, they're also my friends"

"Oh hello nice to meet you guys too"

They gave you a smile and nod then you saw Draco walk out looking for you.

"I hope to see you all soon! bye"

They waved goodbye to you and you rushed towards Draco for your next class.

"Hey what were you talking about with the blood traitor and his idiot friends"

"I just wanted to introduce myself, why?"

"If I were you I wouldn't even lay an eye on them. But whatever swan lets head to class."
